I write this after the Barrow game. If we escape more serious injuries I am fairly confident we should now finish fifth. Currently 4th but I expect Doncaster to go above us & be undefeated from now on as their fixtures are easier. Cannot catch London, Oldham or Newcastle who have the easiest teams to play with York's squad.
@geoffw which means our first play off game would be away to Doncaster 🙄
@jdgsport will know, but I'm sure I heard the top 4 get another bite at the cherry if they lose first time out.
Paulie xx
1st and 2nd get first week off
3rd v 5th
4th v 6th
Winners go through to play 1st and 2nd away; losers play the winners of
7th v 10th
8th v 9th
So, if you finish in the top six, you can lose one of your first two games and still be in.
As things stand, we'd have Doncaster at home. If we won, we'd then play either London or Newcastle away - but if we lost against London or Newcastle, we would still get another chance. If we lost to Doncaster, we'd then play one of the 7th-10th teams in a do or die match at home.

* That's why our game darn the smoke, will be played on the same weekend as the first round of the play-offs.
The original date clashed with the 1895 Final, so had to be re-scheduled, and as they won't be involved in the first round, and (for different reasons 🤣) neither will we, the game will be at Richmond on the Saturday.
Spelly.

Last night showed the difference when 2 actual Championship teams play each other. Entertaining contest, a bit of needle and an atmosphere. Much better than 50 odd nil and went away having enjoyed the game.
@dan1 we’ve had plenty of tough back and forth battles with barrow over the years. Always a fixture to look forward to
Any idea when the Sheffield game is being played? Running out of time on the season. I'm not sure what the hold up is unless Sheffield's change of grounds is holding things up?
Apparently both teams have to agree to the date and it has to be at least 3 days since your last match and 3 before your next match.
Widnes suspect the RL want us to play it on the Wednesday before the 1895 final, we obviously won’t want to play it then.
If neither side can agree a date, the RL will decide the date, and we know what that means

that ain’t on when they’ve let London play their fixture out of season
Fixture planning this season has been a farce
I guess Sheffield don’t like that we’ve got a free weekend in August and don’t want us playing either side of that. But either of those Wednesdays would be right for us
Looking at Sheffield FC’s fixtures, who also play at that ground, they have no fixtures on August 5th or 12th, and us and Sheffield are both playing the Sunday before those dates, so I don’t know why we can’t play on either of those dates, unless there’s someone else who uses the stadium and are more important than Sheffield Eagles, are using it on both of those Wednesdays

Play it at Widnes if can not fulfill the fixture with an income for use at our stadium. If not give us the points.😂👍
London are being allowed as they are guaranteed top 2 so week off and swinton have no chance of making the top 10
wheras we will hopefully be playing in the first round of the playoffs, as Sheffield
agree it’s a farce
