I think the debate about horabin and backhouse puts the spotlight yet again on the board
why won't they accept investors locally who are promising long term financial aid , but will take a unknown investment from a Australian who can have very little input in his short visits here ?
is it self preservation?
is it stubbornness?
it's not good for the club no matter which way you stand on the issue and the meeting the other week has done nothing to clear it up , and no yet again silence
well unfortunately it's not the 70s the game runs on money now not sentiment and you can guarantee the Doncaster and Oldhams of this world are finding ways of getting around salary cap in whatever way they can
us on the other hand have not improved are we 6 th now ? And 3/4 teams went super league and couple went bust so in a realistic view we are probably worse
it's a sad state of affairs
It is a mystery to everyone because he is offering £50,000 every season and this guy in Australia what money will he put into Widnes? It just seems the present bunch of board members are npt putging any money into the club to buy players.Doncaster owners are buying top players with lower crowds so Widnes should do something. Otherwise crowds will go lower and no ambition is not good.
Sorry to say that things have to change fast otherwise I feel we are destined for the bin
did not see Donny crowd - was it above 2K even with the Donny motorbike crew ?
we have a hard core of about 2K down fro 3K a couple of years ago
player wise we seem to keep going through the same loop. Not many new players coming in
things have to change
onwards and upwards
@7-vikingnomad thing is fo the board want change ?
they lost Tim
wont negotiate with horabin
turned down backhouse
all things that could be positive but steered away from
The board are just liking the prestige of being in the executive boxes and a free meal at the games. If they dont want to put anymore money in step down and be fans like us, and allow money people to bring success. They are letting us down not allowing Andy Horabin or back house in the club. There was talk of an Aussie who has come on board, now what about the Middle East investment they talked about?
We all want Widnes to progress and that means the first team, because that is what the fans go to watch and pay for. So step down board members if got no ambition.
agree with what you say there - we need more people sticking in big cash - how do the likes of Donny, sheff,Oldham do it ?
we all know that Newcastle is a sham, that probably next season may fold
but in the mean time we have to get behind our club
onwards and upwards !
