Expected much more from an experienced pro but unfortunately, he went through the motions and we need to replace ASAP before the season disappears Next couple of signings are crucial!

I thought we were taking a risk by not replacing Josh Johnson. We’ve got away with it because apart from Farnworth most of the prop options have to been fit to play most weeks. But we surely have to bring in somebody now, particularly with another middle (don’t like the term but it seems to be the way things are going now!) out for the season in Liam Bent. As for Amor, he’s had a very good career in the game but obviously been quite disappointing for us.

Well we now have 3 players off our books, so we must have money available

time for tilleke to step up but we still need more bodies - a half back is essential and probably another prop - hoping Roberts is now back full time so that helps the centres

but looking at previous, I reckon we will see Jack in the halves again ( does him no favours that ) fb - if Fleming still out who knows

centre Roberts and edge, wingers no problem

starting props will have to be farnworth and walker ?

second row lawton/Wilde/ new boy/Grady ?\ Davies/ field - or is he a prop replacement ?

13 - reckon he will go with Johnstone again and give fuzzy no respite

front row replacements, all we have is Hatton and tilleke ?

struggling for a 17 really !

I'm sure injuries have played a part but his heart didn't seem to be in it 100%, to play RL it needs to be. I see why he signed for us part time for one last season as it suited him. He actually featured in 10 of the 12 games this season and only missed one due to being on holiday in Benidorm. A good career but a disappointing stint from a Widnes perspective.

I was sceptical about his signing, wondering if his heart may be elsewhere, with his teaching and commentating interests. There was no doubting his pedigree. I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, as I think most fans were. He seemed a decent bloke, who had done it all. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the first few times I saw him play, as he did seem committed. Then sadly it all tailed off. Great player in his day, but sadly, didn't quite work for us. I guess we should have taken more notice of his loan spell at Warrington, where he hardly played and at his age he needed regular games. Hard to switch it back on again as has no doubt been realised!
