Wonder if people will question Burnham on the lawlessness happen on a virtually daily basis in Piccadilly Gardens?

I think Labour will win comfortably, on the back of the 'Burnham is a saviour' role.

Fourteen names on the ballot paper for the Makerfield by-election!

What result will be a greater threat to Starmer's leadership? If Burnham wins, it seems a cert, that he'll push for the top job, but..........

A Reform victory, whilst putting Burnham out of the picture, it would then surely put even more pressure on the PM's position than there is currently, would it not?

Labour now as short as 4/11 for the Makefield by-election, with Reform easing to 3/1, so it's (currently) looking good for Burnham, but...

Nearly three weeks to go, so things, and / or the odds, could yet change, and......

Meanwhile, the pressure remains on the PM.

As I was driving to Wigan yesterday to catch the Wembley coach, I went through part of Makerfield, and there were placards in gardens with the likes of "Vote Andy" and "Britain needs Reform" within a few metres of each other. A constituency divided!

Also, there's a post on Facebook showing a picture of a footbridge over the East Lancs Road in Swinton, with a banner hanging from it saying "STARMER IS A ******!"

Apparently there are more Mandelson revelations due to come out today. Starmer won't last long either way, and I think even as deluded as he is, he knows that!

One story that hasn't gotten much coverage over the weekend was that the Palace had all of the emails showing the former Prince wasn't (Insert legally acceptable phrase) the best envoy as he was sharing confidential business info with his mates for SIX years, and they did nothing.

The usual points scoring happening again over a terrible tragedy for Henry Nowak.

Nobody comes out of this well, surprise surprise.

The government have said/done nothing for months on this issue (Despite making multiple comments on other tragedies both here and abroad), the police officer should be locked up, the higher ups in the police have done 0 and Farage is whipping up trouble with his pure cold rage comments that embolden idiots to cause trouble last night for no reason. Even the home secretary said it will take a few months for the report/enquiry to be done, but the murder was 6 months ago. Even with the legal trial I'm sure wheels could have been put in motion sooner.

Hopefully it brings about change so something like this never happens again, but it again showcases the division & fear for where the country is heading. Clowns to the left, jokers to the right seems to sum it up.

You think one of these days Labour will wake up to the fact that if they treated everyone the same they wouldn't lose millions of votes, but the ideological politics is now seemingly so ingrained in everything they do that they'll never get away from it. Every time this happens Farage will come in and stir the pot.

Depressing all round, and unfortunately I fear there will be more heartache/lack of privacy/trouble in his name in the future for the poor Nowak family.

This also takes away some of the attention on the government for the comments of Pat McFadden, which were unbelievable!

Those comments from McFadden will be the death knell for this Govt. And rightly so.

@gpo1971 You would think so, but feel the comments have been lost a bit with the next scandal.

It is so short sighted though, they can only offer so many/much before the pot runs dry.

As long as they get to keep their jobs/houses/pension contributions for a bit longer though.

According to a Facebook post I've just read, Reform candidate for Makerfield, Robert Kenyon, is on BBC's Question Time tomorrow evening.

Any of you tuning in? I might well have a look myself!

Following my previous post, I've just checked on tomorrow's telly listings, and......

The programme is being broadcast from Makerfield, and on the panel are both Burnham, and Kenyon, along with Winstanley of Kemi's Crew, Austin of the Lib Dems, and Wakefield, the Green Party candidate.

Should be an interesting watch.

I’ve seen and heard Kenyon being interviewed and he’s the gift that keeps on giving, he’s a walking disaster. When he in front of a panel like QT he will just go into rehearsed rhetoric, we will see

Their individual candidates don't really matter though do they? Look at the state of the Runcorn MP and some of their councillors. People who vote Reform are voting for good old Nige, you could have Harold Shipman standing locally, irrelevant to a point.

Seen Rupert Lowe kicking off as he wasn't invited onto the panel, despite polling quite high in Makerfield (Relatively).

Question Time is one of the least impartial of all the politics shows now though. Bruce has her own agenda which she doesn't even attempt to hide IMO.

Vote for Monty Brewster!

Who watched it?

I thought Kenyon looked a bit vulnerable at times, but was any floating voter there / viewing, swayed one way or another? I'm far from sure they were.

Checked the latest odds before logging on here, and it's anywhere from 2/5 to 3/10 for Labour, with Reform around the 5/2 mark.

The only other party who seem to be in with anywhere near a shout, are Restore Britain, who are sitting at 8/1.

But as I've said previously, the pressure remains on the current occupant of number ten, and whatever transpires a fortnight today, that pressure is only gonna increase!

Following last night's debate, Reform are now out to 4/1, with Labour hardening to as tight as 2/11.

Is Burnham gonna get the keys to the most famous front door in the land in the not too distant future?
