The interceptions and the mistakes killed our game. I watched on a stream you could tell Newcastle players from a full time environment with line speed and had some big units. Gilmore and Richardson too similar and a running 6 is better for us. Hansen at 6 will make a difference but full time teams easier for recovery.
Yes a couple of mistakes and we went from on their line to defending ours !
So will we know straight away after todays results who we are playing next week? How does it work?
For it to be classed as a good season we have to win next week. Making the 1895 final was good, but in terms of a league campaign, if you would have said at the start with York, Toulouse and Bradford going up we will finish 5th and lose an elimination play off at home, that would not be a sucess.
Making the grand final is the aim (London will win it as full time) but if we win at home next week and the lose to say Doncaster away the week after (again no idea who we will face if we win) then I also think that is acceptable as they have spent a lot more money than us and have a better squad.
So the result next Sunday at home is important for me as to if the season overall can be judged as a success and progress made. Just making the play offs doesnt count this year with 10 teams including Haven, Batley and Midlands.

With Gimore its the other way around...but never mind thats Ok have a new contract and we will build the team around you.Not only are there intercepts but too many looped, inaccurate passes etc which the overall effect is ..all too slow
I think Widnes atm are a competent Champioship club who hope to make the top 4 but realistically won't.
Perhaps hoping like a few years ago led by the last half of quality we had in Kevin Brown to hit the top ...that was some real excitement but a few knocks are it all fell away.....was good to win at Wigan at though

Yesterday was a game too far. After the 1895 Final against FT London, then beating Oldham away last week, after a long trip with a slightly shorter turnaround, we just never looked right. Losing JJ early on, didn't help. We go again, next week, at home, so the Fat Lady isn't singing as of yet.

I watched on the stream we looked tired and the mistake and interceptions changed the momentum. The commentary was bad but the big black guy made yards up the middle for Newcastle. Hopefully playing Ssturday and an extra days rest will help. Lawton tried offloads in his own 25 yards good but sometimes better to retain possesion, especially on first few tackles. Lawton is either great or poor, but a great weapon in your team especially 20 yards out to score. You could tell Newcastle full time and a weeks rest.
