With the present state of the household economies it was always going to be a big ask tbh. Stick with it imo.

Backing off because of lack of performance is always an awkward one. Does dropping your support help the club rebuild? Not really, it plainly needs mores support not less, but that's an individual view and choice.

Over the years I found that cutting the 'household budget' as an encouragement to make my missus a better manager never improved my meals!!!!!!

There will probably have some great films on itv3 for you Viking25!!!!

Happy Christmas anyway!

@viking25 Would imagine a lot of people feel the same.  I have bought a season ticket and have recently joined the new scheme but my interest in the club and the game in general is starting to wear thin.

Maybe the truth also is that many of the missing 1000 joined when we were in Admin (I did) and only did it out of a sense of urgency/desperation.

Not necessarily the VIQI board's fault, but there has to be a feeling that there wasn't value for money in the signings made using VIQI money as the last 3 completed seasons have been poor.

I think the new scheme will benefit from a bit of a push when the season starts.

Not good numbers at-all but people dont have a pot to piss in nowadays. Would imagine ST tickets will be down this year too (not just Widnes, accross the game)

I cancelled my direct debit from the old scheme quite a while ago simply as I had little idea where my money went and zero input in how it was spent.  I appreciate a lot of work went into this probably unpaid but they were my reasons.

I question the old regimes motives in having a huge database of contacts who at least once were willing to help the club and this database essentially went into the bin.  Even from a GDPR point of view, an email to ask permission to pass details to the new regime will of at least handed over a larger database than an empty one.

Every little helps I suppose and £21k gets a couple of decent part time players in.  The game in the Championship is a tough watch as it's such a strange league.  I hope something changes quite soon with the league to make it better.  New fans can't get too excited coming to a ground almost empty, with not much to play for, no pre match entertainment etc.

You may well have questioned the "...old regime..." but we now have a New Regime - so do try to assist and put in a few £ per month if your finances allow.

It all mounts up.

Our current squad seems stronger than in previous years, capable of playing decent entertaining rugby and growing the crowds back again.

It's a good point sunny, this is a new watch and I appreciate that.

Absolutely agree Sunny.

We are not an attractive club for millionaires it seems and over the years we have played before big and small attendances. The exceptional response to our Admin saga was truly 'exceptional' and all who contributed should be congratulated. But one swallow doesn't make a summer and the only way that we are likely to rise again is through a similar continuing support process.

Finances nationally are pretty ropey atm and it may take a while before anyone has cash to offer to a struggling rugby club but we have to keep the Widnes heart beating somehow.

I will support with attendance and the VIPs as long as I am able and I know that there are others who will do the same.

WTID means what it says!

Hopefully the number of people contributing will increase. I do think the new scheme could use a bit of a push/publicity drive as whilst contributions will be down partly due to people having less cash at the moment I am sure there will be folk who could get involved who made VIQI contributions but have not yet moved across to the new scheme.
