The usual agreement to continue paying an ex employees wages, is that the agreement is such that if the ex-employee finds a new job, of a similar salary, the obligation to pay the salary ends. I think this is a good system and fair all parties.

Yeh could be, same pub that I heard the senior players had a meeting ask the ceo to stay away from changing rooms etc on game day. As you say, nobody knows

Now this I can believe.

Makes you think that Finnegan himself may not have been all of the problem.

Very basic things will decide who or if we get any applications. Where do they live? Are they comfortable there? What other clubs are after a coach, is it more convenient? IIRC there was a pretty varied response last time with experience mixed with complete amateurs.

Smith would almost certainly need a player budget which we probably don't have!

Mid season is not a good time to look as most coaches are too involved in their teams, though there may be the likes of Marshall that have flexibility.

Out of left field maybe, but Tony Rea seemed to like the moves we were making when he was TV commentating. Maybe he could be tempted to the end of the season?

Duffy, Marshall and Webster were all unavailable last time, were at clubs. Not the case now. So if one of those is judged to be the right coach (I honestly wouldn't mind any of them) then presumably they could come in now finances permitting.

Tony Smith would be the dream appointment, but can't for the life of me see it.

Not sure what the script is with Richard Agar, wouldn't be averse to him either.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Bobby Goulding yet😳.

Didn’t he apply for it last time?

@farnworth-viking I’m not saying Bobby would/wouldn’t be the right coach for us but he would want the control that might not be how the CEO likes it

Quite a few people are saying we’re short of money, and can’t afford a good coach/player, but in a pre season interview on Merseyside, Phil Finney said we weren’t short of money and had done well getting grants from the government during lockdown.

Gets a lot of flak Bobbie does, and before anyone says anything I get why, can’t question his passion and enthusiasm, sometimes that’s all it needs

Difference between balancing the books and having money in the bank to spend on players/coaches.

I suspect we are ran prudently but can't splash out. That is what is meant by people when talking about a lack of money.
