How can Whitehaven afford to offer him a good 2 year contract, when they neatly went bust this season, and couldn’t pay their players on at least 2 occasions?
He might be on next to nothing for his rugby, but gets a decent job to offset it. Players in this division, on the whole, get very little pay. You'd be surprised if you knew.

He may be doing something else FV, not everyone in Cumbria works at Sellafield.
When at Widnes apparently he felt isolated, and was living in a flat above the closed Barclay's Bank, so i'm led to believe, As the majority of the players all have jobs outside of RL, he was probably bored out of his tits, and so went back to Aus. Probably shouldn't have left W'haven in the first place. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

When he was at haven prior to moving to Widnes(briefly) he was working at haven in their community programme..assuming he's doing the same again..also big mates with Ryan king and knows Lucas castle which obviously helps him going back their .bar in Wales camp with foz and walker he didn't know diddly at Widnes
Sounds like a dull character if he needed toys to occupy him in his flat.Go out,meet people,make friends,go places,join a gym,visit Chester,Liverpool,Manchester,volunteer for school appearances,get involved with the amateurs.Apart from that I can see why he felt alone.
Heard from a reliable source that Ted and Jay have signed back for next season, along with Mike Butt and Rhodri Lloyd of Swinton; a full back from Crusaders (?); and Danny Langtree and Sam Brooks of Barrow.
Craven, Lawton, Brown, Davies and Farnworth have signed elsewhere.
I heard that one of the Chapelhows has signed for Oldham. I don’t know which one though. We might have signed the other?

Crusaders player will be owain Abel ...highly rated APPARENTLY....but that's league one n this is the champ...langtree is contracted to barrow for 2024 unless there's been a mutual termination but be surprised if barrow have agreed to that ..he was there best player alongside gillam till he popped his shoulder..
It is many years ago, but so i was led to believe, Whitehaven used to have links with Sellafield or more so , some of the contractors who operated within the site and could arrange gainful employment for players who moved to the area.

Yeah plenty to do in the area, and I would rather not have him if not committed. He is nothing special when I saw him play. 👍
