Renews the 'brothers' link in past Widnes and other teams! On the bright side they have been well coached. Not sure what they weigh in at but it will depend on the way the Coach applies them.

The fullback will be Owain Abel who is highly rated outside the semi-pro clubs.  Iirc from Pilks Recs. We have a fair number of FB options now of course.

The Chapelows must be joined at the hip, can't sign one without the other.

Yeah very strange that one mate. I know Newcastle not that great but how have the Chapelhows played? Big lads but no aggression and just too nice if we need to progress in the Championship. We definitely need a few big props, but these don't excite me.

Sure the twins rumours crops up every year. As much as a positive person I am and giving people a chance I would be fuming if them pair came back

The Halifax result doesn’t help us

Well in my opinion if don't win all our remaining games we don't deserve the playoffs. It is about being consistent and that spell under Kear for 8 games was woeful.

@pascal I think 2 out of 3 will do it, be surprised but impressed if we win at fev

lets enjoy the rest of the ride

@sinbad Same old same old with the club, we can't seem to get any consistency season after season 😕

But that's the game, whichever league you are in.

Even our front runners, Fev etc have slumped at times. They may not have lost games but they weren't always on top form. It's the Coach's nightmare!

We could still do it with 2 out 3. Let's win the next 2 and see what happens. At least in the fight for the playoffs and if not for that bad spell I think top 4 was achievable with this team. Hopefully better coaching and a stronger squad next season. 👌👍🥖🥖

The Chapelow twins have never shown any real agression when taking the ball in, and for guys of their size are far too easily tackled, they need to improve massively if they are coming back, not optimistic about that.

K9 I can't disagree with you to be honest. At 27 they are coming to there peak years, and we need big aggressive props like most of the top 6 sides have in the Championship. Be nice if these rumours were quality players than bang average ones. Well hopefully a crock of crunchie and just rumours 👌👍🥖🥖

According to the web Jay is 17 stone +, Ted is 16 stone +. They are too long in the leg to be powerful without they shorten their stride as they drive. Noticed that Lawton was doing just that in his last game!

One factor next year is Gilmore's ability to manipulate a pack and get results, as he did at Batley. The pack have to be 'savvy' and play their part, which comes back to coaching.

From our recent displays it looks like NB is a pretty capable coach and has got our defence working at last.

Heard from a reliable source that Ted and Jay have signed back for next season, along with Mike Butt and Rhodri Lloyd of Swinton; a full back from Crusaders (?); and Danny Langtree and Sam Brooks of Barrow.

Craven, Lawton, Brown, Davies and Farnworth have signed elsewhere.

I heard that one of the Chapelhows has signed for Oldham. I don’t know which one though. We might have signed the other?
