Shame there isn't an out and out interchange hooker available but other than that a solid looking team available to us and hopefully able to start well.

Lyons to be the interchange/rotation option for hooker or do we think that we will run with 4 forwards on the bench and get Fozard to play 80 mins?

Probably have Lyons on the bench myself...

Dec Gregory injured and Hulme working? Well Lyons probably the best option as I don't think Fozzard an 80 mins hooker like a Roby.

Have I missed something? Last year we named a 19 man squad so why 21 named for London? Has the rule changed or was it not a rule in the first place?

@ditton-donkey I am not particularly overjoyed by it but I think Doro will be in the team.

I think 4 forwards and smith covers hooker in spells

I would go with

owens

brookes

flemming

spedding

ince

craven

smith

farnworth

fozzard

doro

wilde

davies

baker

subs:

brown

lawton

dupree

tileke/lyons

i get the opinion of doro each to there own but for me I’d like to go as big as we can and ultimately I do feel on ability he is a better player than some of our forwards and it’s the first time in a long while we are in a position to make tough calls hope if he plays he proves me right

probably sensible to put Lyons on the bench for cover but we do also have the option of brown who’s played in the halfs pushing to there and smith dropping to 9 for a spell to spell fozzard

what ever the team I’m confident for a win Sunday with that group of players

@ditton-donkey - Lyons surely needs to be on the bench. As you suggest the above wouldn’t work with four forward subs.

Looking at the London squad, not sure what to expect from them given the changeover of players.

We need to start fast whoever is playing.

Wonder if with the signings in the back row we may see more of Lawton as an impact player?

@cj91 I think that makes sense. No matter how he improved attacking wise last season he is still a defensive liability because of his size with high tackles and quick stepping players. Bring him on when defences are tiring or we need a bit of momentum and I think it suits him to a T

If you look at the games against Batley last year, when we were tiring they brought on big forwards who helped open the floodgates for them, Lawton coming off the bench could do similar for us IMO.
