No surprise there - it will make another mockery of the sport - I reckon they will delay for a year, IMG will relegate salfraud and possibly shuddersfield
bring on the next legal objection !
in the mean time the clubs that have spent money on their SL application are screwed again
Season tickets on sale Monday so obviously the club know the outcome.
You can hardly believe it!
Promote clubs to SL on 60% of the cash enjoyed by the rest (and proves to be insufficient)
Stuff up the assessment methodology and select a kangaroo court to sort out any odds and ends.
Then, the piece de resistance, take on the NRL, presumably to show how well SL is going.
What could possibly go wrong????
I agree with you, I think SL will return to PT in the next few years. It's a part time sport masquerading as a full time sport and has been for a long time.
I watch Widnes most weeks, it's my team and my town, but I don't watch a lot of SL. I watch as much of the NRL as I can as it's a better quality game. So you can see why Sky would reduce the payment for SL.
Realistically, SL was only ever full time because of sky and wealthy backers. How can you be a full time sport reying on wealthy backers and propped by tv money? It didn't work out for the Bulls years ago despite a period of success.
The RFL have let the clubs run the game instead of doing what is right for the game. You can't parachute a club into SL without a fanbase, it doesn't work in the long term. How can you decide to expand the league with only a few months notice? Especially after deciding to use the IMG system
The game is dying in the heartlands and the RLF should be addressing that instead of pursuing the likes of Toulouse, London, and Catalan. Imagine the attendance for a challenge cup final if it was Catalan v Toulouse? What sort of an advert for the game would that be?
If SL does go back to PT, the likes of Widnes with a steady fanbase, and decent travelling support will be needed, as the French teams would have to drop out.
Maybe this is part of the 'six year plan.'
Totally agree, for the good of RL in this country, the RFL needs to focus on heartland and not expansion. And that means binning Catalans and not considering London or Toulouse. It will never happen, they haven't the balls.
Demetriou now signed up at the Broncos eh? So in my (cynical?) opinion, they must know summat, and I would suggest that doesn't include 'em locking horns with my mob next term!
(Dis)agree? Over to you!
Spelly.

Spelly these clubs knew months ago and hence why have not spent money and did not care coming 10th in the league. York and Bradford are already got ready made teams with some additions on there way. I can not begrudge York had a very good season and Bradford are a big club with a great fan base. So see you next year Spelly, and if Widnes had a massive money backer, then I am sure one day we will be back into Super league. There will be another team going bust and the goal posts changed again.

York are going full-time next season, irrespective of what division they're in, according to their owner Clint Goodchild. "The decision was made in June." so he says.
I don't envisage there being any problems for 'em in getting the nod for SL, and my opinion, they're more than worthy of a place amongst the game's elite, but......
If they are ignored, and end up with the Chemics and the Lions on their fixture list instead of Pies and HKR, will they run away with tier two, similar to Wakey last term?
Spelly.
Spelly, I reckon it’s simple - York and Toulouse are in the top 12 IMG gradings , at the expense of salfraud and possibly shuddersfield (their grading must have dropped massively with league position and attendances v capacity
still think the winners extra .25 points will make a massive difference
look forward to next season and go and watch the chemical at my local (ish) club the hurricanes - only a 200 mile round trip
onwards and upwards
