Yes that’s the way I see it - if you throw the game it 48 - 0
if you put out a really basic team you could lose by more - seems pointless, but we will find out when the clowns at the RFL make their decision on the 14th - mind you they may well defer that yet
Ordinarily, I would advocate that you fulfill the fixture to keep the integrity of the competition; however, I think throwing the fixture is more in line with the integrity of the competition.
Just a thought, but would it be possible to go ahead with the Sheffield game on 30 August as planned and re-arrange the 1895 Farcical Cup final to the end of the season, perhaps as a support act to the SL Grand Final.
Probably not feasible, but wouldn't it have been a great way to promote the Championship and the rebirth of London into SL. I am sure that the 50 or so travelling London fans can be accommodated in Old Trafford!!
Let's see what the RFL come up with. My view is that the league and play-offs are more important (but no less farcical) than the 1895 Meaningless Cup final.
Do you think that this daft idea could get me a seat on the RFL Board?
Frank you have my vote, as you are as illogical as them !
they won’t change final date as contracts have been signed with the dire
strangely burgess is moaning that the full time dire have to play 3 games in 10 days !
Doncaster beating Barrow tonight means even if Widnes throw the Sheffield game and lose 48-0, then will still finish 5th as long as beat Halifax and Workington.
4th out of the question really even with three wins out of three.

So basically could win this weekend and against Workington due to our points difference.Barrow would have to put over 100 on Whitehaven i presume even if took a 48 lost against Sheffield?
Well are we allowed to throw the Sheffield game? If stopped us i would play half squad and the community players. Then have a few loans from Superleague.
agree with that - not sure what the RFLs take would be if we pulled the sheff game - it will probably make no difference to us but it may to sheff.
so it’s looking like Oldham away in the playoffs - we won there this season !
if we lose we would then have a home game
Just looked if we lose the Oldham game a home tie, if we win away to Newcastle, win that and a home semi final !
Bit of an old post but I think I might have been right !
