@gpo1971 Yes I agree not Colemans fault and not much that can be done but just a blow right before the season starts.

I'm sorry but this is piss poor by the club. There's virtually no they are going to replace him at this late stage. Abdul will be next.

Yes, it will only take five or six good performances from Abdull to show he’s fit and still serious about playing and he’ll be off for a better deal. It’s the nature of our situation and will be for the future. We have to accept that we are not a club where better quality players aspire to make a career.

It is disappointing he's left but let us not get too pessimistic. We have just signed a fourth specialist prop which is important. Maizen had speed & with Abdul I was looking forward to hopefully see him prosper. Let us not forget however last season Maizen was a bit disappointing in his impact on the team. He did not seem to me to read the game that well & anticipate where he should be in a movement  in order to break through more than he did. If Abdul can create space Edge & the Salford lad, if given a chance, have enough speed to cause some damage.

So it is far from the end of the world. Best wishes to Maizen for the future.

Unfortunately he does seem to have this knack of signing players who don't stick around too long.

Everyone keeps saying he wasn't great but I'd probably say we don't play a expansive enough game for flair players to prosper none of our backs score in great numbers so that's says we don't utilise space well enough then we expect them to do the first 3 drives every set yet have 4 forwards on bench lol

Agree Jake never hit his expectations...but hey he only played 9 games and scored 5 tries while not being remotely fully fit...he stacks up pretty well compared to others who played twice as many if not three times as many games ...

People saying it's not Colemans fault but he's getting these players in. He should be vetting the players who he brings into the club more thoroughly.

How many players have left after signing  contracts these last couple of years?

The one's that stay, the likes of Bent and Gregson, the players we'd be happy to lose, are the ones that stay as no one else wants them.

Remember the signing farce last year? Signing players who ended leaving a few weeks into the season.

We're hardly picking from a cast of thousands are we? If we applied too much of a critical eye, there'd be no-one to sign.

This is low paid, part-time rugby league we're talking about. Not the NFL draft.

Yep, we’re fishing in a small pond.

I appreciate we're the wrong side of the pennies and money is tight, but mistakes have been made with recruitment, look at the Paton signing last, everyone knows he's got a poor attitude yet we signed him.

Maizen imo was our best attacking threat so it’s a big loss right before the season but as mentioned we are in a part time league so we are restricted in who we can get. Hopefully we see big improvements from certain players like Fleming, gregson and if abdull can make an impact we will do ok, I would love for us to finish top of the league but who of our current squad wants to win promotion?
