Joe Lyons is our reserve half back, he cant pass more than 3 yards, cant kick from his own half, cant throw cut out passes, cant kick penalties more than 5 yards, cant take charge in crisis, cant organise the team around the pitch. he does 2 good kicks a season, so why the bloody hell is he anywhere near a rumoured play off targeting team.
Hunslet have 2 better halves (Hannigan and Gaskell)
I always give the club a hard time as I think they usually deserve it but it's out of order to single out one player. He may not be a superstar but gives his all what more do you want from the bloke. Why are you not blaming the coach and club over recruitment as that's where the problems lies.
@prisoner he wouldnt get in hunslets team, im not singling out one player, hes only here becasue hes never left, hes not improved since his debut, he had one decent season last year, no team who are arsed about getting top 6 will have a half back who can only pass left and do a half decent grubber every 6 weeks
@weatesviking you’re not allowed to point out the fact that he’s not good enough.
Not singling out one player 🤣@prisoner he wouldnt get in hunslets team, im not singling out one player, hes only here becasue hes never left, hes not improved since his debut, he had one decent season last year, no team who are arsed about getting top 6 will have a half back who can only pass left and do a half decent grubber every 6 weeks
I really don’t agree with singling out individual players in a team sport.
Joey Lyons takes to the field wearing the jersey and every time I’ve seen him play he’s always had effort and dedication. Wether you believe he’s of the quality to play for the club is an opinion but it’s not productive as a main post
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the fact is you can’t keep a player in your squad because he shows abit of effort or dedication otherwise Coleman would be better off going round the stands and asking fans to play because they’d have the same effort and dedication. Unfortunately for Lyon’s he never has or never will be good enough.
@johng But he's all we have so support the lad. Most halfbacks would struggle with the shambolic pack we have.
@prisoner I could become his number one supporter and it still wouldn’t change the fact he’s not good enough. We all know it.
... im not singling out one player...
Of course you are!
Look at the title of your thread, re-read your first post. They both are aimed at Lyons and no-one else.
I must say you do seem to lose control of your keyboard when you start typing, see your separate diatribe about Stuart Murphy. Amongst other things, you call him "our so-called Chairman" when in fact he IS our Chairman.
By all means have your say if you disagree with something, but do so in a realistic way.
@prisoner Plus the fact he lost his scrum half after a few minutes!
I have never been a fan of Lyons but we have to get behind him for now. Personally I would get rid next season as I think he is league 1 standard at best.
