Superleague staying as it is, Bronco's miss out on promotion. They won't like that .
I suspect we will see a deft change in the rules now. Something like.
"With the investment from the NRL we have reviewed how teams are promoted and relegated, and promotion will be based on winning the championship but also meeting the minimum criteria of a B or 9.7, this means London will be promoted. However, we are expanding the Super League to 15, so Bradford are not relegated as none of the teams were expecting relegation to factor as part of this season. We do not expect to expand the SL further."
Then there will be something the original 11 teams on full SL money, joined by Bradford and then York, London and Toulouse on a third each, with an amount of the NRL's investment topping up London's terms.
What would be wrong with that? or am I just getting cynical in my old age.
I think some of these clubs are pulling a Man City.
@jdgsport It's been reported by the BBC. on their Rugby League website there is a photo of London showing off the Championship trophy and it says underneath that they will not be playing in Superleague next season
That's just the BBC. If SL want the NRL money, they'll be in.

If you read the full story, it says , “with Daren Lockyers and Australian backing, and winning the playoffs, 1895 cup and coming top of the championship table comfortably, they still hope to be in SL in 2017”.

But Super League haven't said that... they've said the 14 are still in, they haven't said nobody else is joining...
Yet again the RFL mired in confusion. They have made a complete mess of getting London promoted on the back of the adjusted IMG criteria and are now having their hand forced by the NRL.
Surely, this must be the end of the IMG Spreadsheet League. The idea of improving standards both on and off the pitch was probably correct, but then to use it to determine promotion and relegation left it open to abuse by those playing the system.. Whereas Clubs like Widnes probably played by the rules, others played the system and found ways to bend the rules to maximise their grading, We were just not clever enough.
No doubt the RFL will come out with some weasel words to justify the decision to promote London as good for the game. What they will not address is the mess that is the game below SL. Is there any possibility of promotion and relegation being re-introduced into SL in the foreseeable future? Just what are the plans for the game below SL? Will it become a feeder league? What is the future for Clubs like Widnes, Oldham, Sheffield and others, who have SL ambitions?
What a sad state the game is in. Relying on a hand-out from NRL to keep it going. A game that once produced greats like Frank Myler, Vince Karalius, Dougie Laughton etc to represent the country on the national stage, now reliant on a British Exiles team to represent the country.

Well that’s 9 years ago so maybe we best check history books 😂
We need a big money person now if got any hope of Superleague, and the way clubs are in so much debt and if an owner walks away they are in trouble. We are probably going about it in the correct way with the Community U19s and local players, then with some quality from Australia having our board member doing a great job. All we can do is win on the pitch and be trying to win the league and 1895 Cup, which is the only way to bring fans along. The goal posts probably change in a few years time and all we have to do is wait for the best timing. If we are winning on the pitch and fans coming then hopefully a big investor will come along. No offence to Andy Horabin but 150k will get us a better team in the Championship, but not the type of money for Superleague. Wish our stadium was around 9k but Leigh are averaging over 8.5k so shows it can be done with great away support, and also what success can do with a big money person like at Wakefield too.
The NRL will not give jot about any IMG or any other ratings....they an organisation with a vision of what they want to see going forward.London out they will be out.The SL/RFL then have only two options as there will be no club removed from SL go with the NRL and this will be the first of many changes the NRL will insist on or go it alone (as a poor organisation with no vision or plan going forward???)
They could put London and Barrow in to keep it even..................
Barrow my arse they done nothing in the league or the cup. Joke this IMG needs scraping when NRL come in.
If they put London in but not Barrow, what will they say to justify it, and will that signal the end for IMG? (I hope it does)
