No, what was the question?

It was the final question, asking about teams that had won the World Club Challenge.

Widnes, and Bradford were some of pointless answers. The contestants named the Roosters, who scored one.

You can prob find it on BBC Catch Up.

Seeing the thread title, I assumed this was about next year's Championship 😀.

I think I've seen that episode before.

I haven’t watched it yet, I record them and am a couple of days behind, but I don’t think it’s a repeat, as they’re in the middle of a new series.  Will watch it tonight.

The question has been on before because I remember it.

It definitely has. I remember two Widnes-related questions, this one and another asking for an underground or mainline railway station with "Green" in the title. I think Hough Green was pointless, Lea Green scored 1. Or the other way round.

As has been suggested it was prob a repeat, coz I've just watched the follow on show from yesterday, and it was dated 2023.

Yes it is a repeat. For some reason the BBC have decided to suddenly stop the latest series of Pointless after just 15 episodes out of 45, and start showing a repeat series from 2023.

Perhaps they’re trying to save money so they can show the RL World Cup,😁🙄

Definitely a repeat. I remember it being on a few years ago. Whenever Max Rushden on Talk Sport mentions RL, he always gives a shout out to Widnes. He must remember the glory years or watching us on Grandstand and in finals when he was a kid.

The current episodes were first shown in November 2023 and have already been repeated in October 2024.  The Beeb seem to spread new ones very thin these days.  I read somewhere that the viewing figures are much the same between new ones and repeats.  Dunno if that is correct but it would not surprise me.

But Romesh says..."What have the BBC ever done for me?"

They've spunked the licence fee on 2 weeks of wall-to-wall Wimbledon tennis, followed a polar bear around the ice cap for months/years, and have the gall to expect the general public to fund Children In Need, a charity set up by an organisation full of Paedophiles and wrong 'uns. And don't get me started on that played out crap, that is Strictly!

DEFUND THEM NOW!

Paulie xx

If we defund the BBC we end up like America, where the news cant be trusted to be impartial. Public Service broadcasting is essential to a functioning democracy. Also how would that impact James! I do wish they would show more RL though. It’s a complete scandal that we cant see at least the highlights of the world cup somewhere for free.
