Ok so we head into the challenge cup, are we going to take this game seriously, as I don’t think the approach for the last game was right.

can we have at least 2 props on the bench, if not why are they still with us

6 unfortunately is not open for change, unless we try edge ?
full back same as Jack will be still out, or maybe Fleming and bring roberts into centre

Dire players probably unavailable but Wigan lad should be ok
ince back ?

attendance will be poor - struggle for 1500 I reckon

then the mighty crusaders await us, a game we need to win by the small margin of 81 points !

It could be more than 81 points and not likely to know until the hooter, not that I'm expecting it to be an issue! Batley (+1) play Hunslet, and Oldham (+4) play Rochdale so they could rack up scores beyond the +68 York will likely finish second in Group 3 on.

The 6 and 7 positions can’t be changed unfortunately, and I definitely wouldn’t put edge at 6 I’d move him to full back and Robert’s in the centre and drop Roby he was awful against Swinton and seems to have lost that speed he had

Yes but wouldn’t that mean they both top their groups ? With fev and Halifax going out. Doubt we could win by 31 mind !

I'm hoping that the players will respond positively to the criticism and will pull out all the stops on Sunday ... after all it's only Doncaster and we should beat them (comfortably).

As usual I will be there, but there could be an awful lot of empty seats in the stadium ☹️

@pensioner Doncaster have bought well it won't be a walk over and if they score first then I think another defeat will follow!! Unfortunately in our situation losing might not be the worst thing for us

Let’s hope we have the option of having more than one prop on the bench.

I'm old enough to remember the Dons featuring in a 1980's documentary, to mark their achievement (??) of not winning ANY game in that season!

Don't think they've ever won anything worthwhile since they were formed, so I hope our players help them keep up that tradition on Sunday, and give the (small) crowd something to cheer us up.

@pensioner beat a Tony Mylers team 21-6 in 94 with Hulme D, WrighD,Mcurrie and Hansen Lin attendance. A painful experience for a SYirkshire based Widnes supporter. Hopefully not to be repeated this weekend.

With what is going on at the moment plus the ridiculous ticket price this may well be our lowest ever crowd,  a few people I see regular at the games who are die hards are swerving the game and from social media comments looks like there will be a lot more not attending.

Return fixture at Naughton Park was a 12-12 draw.

Doncaster were narrowly beaten by Sheffield and I would not be surprised if they beat us on Sunday.

I guess that we just have to hope that Coleman can gel the squad together and give the dwindling group of fans a reason to look forward to the 2024 Championship season.

Having watched them many teams over the past few years. They are well run club (much better than Widnes). They have a good aging super league pedigree in the team. I think the fact Widnes fans cheered at the draw will be good motivation for them. It won't be easy.

I’ve just reached HT watching the Barrow V Oldham game and being very honest, I’m concerned. We need a well disciplined and strong showing today to convince me that we won’t be battling relegation this season.

I can’t say how much that first half has brought my view into focus! Almost depressing!
