I think a tough game we should win just but it'll be close either way
Simple - play Abdull and we win. Don't play Abdull and we risk a low scoring defeat. Without Abdull's kicking game we don't have enough 'grunt' in our forwards to get us up the field and into good field positions and in his absence we don't have enough attacking creativity to create good scoring opportunities. The evidence of that is laid before us for everyone to see in the games where he hasn't played. Come on Mr Coleman, it's not rocket science!

I also think we need a fans forum to discuss the departure of a director, new salary cap, potential sale of the stadium and what it means for Widnes and player recruitment/performance.

Definitely it is Dan and it does not look good an investor leaving and the possible sale of the stadium. This could go either way sell the stadium for housing or some rich business person buys the stadium. If the stadium gets demolished will we have a rugby team and where we play? The fan base will drop further with the no ambition and just going by what income comes into the club, which will mean another season of mediocrity and even less fans. How do Doncaster, Barrow, Sheffield, Halifax and Oldham seem to spend more than Widnes with less fans? There is definitely no ambition in the club and I think Twinny has showed his frustration and there seems nothing positive in being a top team. I have pulled out of WVIPS because pissed off with no ambition we should be aiming at least top 3 every season.

Your money, you do what you want with it but is that really the way to support your team!! This is RL, very little money in it and the goalposts change every year so this time next year we will prob have promotion and relegation back and will need every penny to build up a team including your W ViP money.
@begg Out of the clubs you mentioned who spend more than Widnes, I think Doncaster, Oldham and Sheffield have someone with money on their board. And I don’t think Halifax will be spending more than us this season!!
It's not hard to understand his frustration!other people on here have said about not renewing season tickets next year due to lack of ambition,and after Andrew's statement he obviously felt similarly so why have we a lack of ambition have we not got the right dynamic in boardroom? Are we too passive? We let a prop go not replaced even after losing players and the whole world can see we need a prop , how many games do you lose before you bring one in ? That's lack of ambition and unfortunately it rings out very loud at moment
People taking the ex directors statement whichever way they want and creating their own conclusion. We can all do that
No point in the statement did he say the club lack ambition or any of the other directors.
it’s states the restrictions placed on the club, the restrictions are the salary cap that’s being put in and the only way a club can put more money in is a director giving personal guarantee on it. None of the directors at Widnes are in a position to do that so that’s why we’re restricted to the 500k salary cap that will be imposed.

The rugby under Coleman has been very pedestrian for the last 3 years and it is the same problems every season. No running halfback and keeps giving contracts to Lyons and release a prop and Toby Hughes. I bet you that Toby Hughes is a better player than Lyons who offers nothing. You will see attendances drop further this year and next season if all our ambition is mid table crap. There is many pulling the plug and I do not blame them as I do not see any progress under Coleman. Oh keeps playing his mates is another problem with Coleman and he loves Gregson who is bang average at this level. These project signings are also a waste of time. 😂🤦♂️

Sorry if not spending more but they look better than us. Exactly no money person how all these little clubs manage to find a money person but we cant though. I t would not surprise me the stadium gets sold for houses and no home for Widnes. Look forward to this board when Dewsbury beat us.

Well said fed up of the happy clappers here loving mid table crap every season. All the hard work from Tim Holmes and Twinny has been wasted if we do not progress.

we’re spending 575k a year which with directors who many aren’t exactly millionaires is a decent amount. Considering the championship salary cap used to be 300k before it was scrapped.
you’ve got to understand that our cap will be set around 500k next year and unless one or more of the directors agrees to be personally liable or give personal guarantees (it’s in the recommendations documents set out by the RFL only a few months back) then we physically cannot spend more than that amount.
to disagree with a coach and his selection of players is fair enough and warranted when we’ve lost 2 in a row, but to be calling the board et al and withdrawing support like WVIPS only weakens our position to recruit
Sad thing in all this is ....we've spent 575k on a squad devoid of middles ...stacked with back rows ..some who shouldn't be anywhere near the club let alone getting new two ye deals ...outside edges that while are steady lack real speed and evasiveness...an unpredictability...that we've seen past two games with gebbie at Donny and ritson at barrow ...when the middle is an arm wrestle you rely on those xfactor players either in the halves or edges....if RL was a paint chart many are glorious colours of the rainbow....and we are magnolia on wood chip ...and taking that all in ...we have to cut 75k of this dire squad ....laugh...nearly pooped myself
£575k is a lot to spend on a squad in the Championship that can't seem to make the play offs. A squad that lacks pace, size and balance. Sorry to sound harsh, but when you think about it, we are now in our 8th season in the Championship, its not really good enough.
Does anyone else think otherwise?
