Our 4 ex-players all did well, in fact Lawton scored a try.

@steve they beat Barrow in the end then? How did the ex-Vikings play?

Chapelhows, Farnworth, Craven, Lawton all played and were often all on field at the same time which seemed to be a tactic. Generally, they all played well and I’d say Sean Long has them motivated. If anything, perhaps Farnworth under-performed, though I may be being over critical as I saw him as a player going up in the game! Lawton made a couple of storming runs and tackled well, Craven ran well from 1st receiver and kicked well and the Chuckle brothers were dependable with no frills.

Add to these the other players they have signed though and I’d say Oldham are certainly contenders this year. It’d be unfair not to mention Barrow too though, as a last minute interception try flattered Oldham. Barrow have a strong team and defended well, almost levelling the scores with 5 to go. Perhaps their strength in depth may not be good, but certainly their first team would cause us major problems if they played us tomorrow!

They played really well. Lawton was difficult to put down and scored a good try. Cravens kicking was exceptional especially his free kicks they gained a lot of metres. Farmworth and the Chap brothers all played really well and were difficult to put down.

Lawton scored the game breaking try, the Chapelhowes ran it hard down the middle has did Farnworth. Craven nearly opened them up a couple of times. All in all the Oldham pack looked massive and dominated the game. They'd murder us. Agree with Steve, we've got plenty to worry about.

Have you seen that team? FFS we may be lucky to draw with that pack and Gilmour benched (sickness or form)?

Fair play to the lads out there putting in the graft. Probably not expecting to be playing in positions or as long as they are against a team just promoted.

Hopefully a continuous second half

I take my hat off to the boys. Never expected that. Well played. Probs lost a fair few players but plenty of time to recover with NW Crusaders dead rubber game next week.

Deserved the win, man of the match was Lloyd Roby. But Dixon and Ince were very good.

Lowest attendance in a long time - less than 800 braved the cold.

Team decimated by illness, never had enough for an eighteenth man. Quite an enjoyable game with some good tries scored and quite impressed by Doncaster. Att 788, and for those who decided to punish the club well done you managed it!

Look at the good points, win for a start, walker outstanding, Roby great job in the halves, tilleke put a shift in
roberts at 13 did a decent job

your glass should be half full !
downside prop wise, Reilly out, looks like Kirk out - hopefully field back, otherwise not many left !

onwards and upwards 81-0 next week !

I enjoyed that after a grim week. Good attacking tries. That first few min try had me worried. Off back to Wales. See you next week!

Been a lot of talking in the last week, but the coach and the players have done their talking on the pitch- the most important thing.

Roberts, Roby and Walker outstanding.

Hopefully get the win next week and help build a bit of momentum into the Bradford game.
