@mick-george because he’s probably looking at the wages the performance of the team as a whole and how many games certain players actually play a season. You don’t need to be a coach to see that there’s a fair few players in are team who miss more then half the season to injuries consecutively. You can’t tell me you’d keep many players from are current squad?

@johng He's also being a bit of a knob in the office.

There's a great bloke, who gives a lot of free time to the club, well over and above the small contract he was on, who Hamilton singled out for unjust criticism to which the bloke told him to stick it. Why would you upset the good people when there's others swinging the lead.

He also cries if anyone touches his desk or moves his chair in the office. Bit of an egomaniac if you ask me.

Easy option get a boxing night on. I be happy to fight Hamilton in the ring. It will stop his ego when I smash him with a big turn out in the Longhouse bar🤣🤣🥖🥖

Tell you what, I don’t know who this guy is, but if I worked with someone like that his desk and chair would be found minus nuts and bolts!

He will then be signing players like I said he knows nothing about the players and yes we need a clear out but I am just as non qualified to do that as Hamilton, Will he be taking charge of training next ? We need to recruit as well as dilute both go hand in hand.

I'm always a bit wary of these outsiders  with no previous connections to the club and no love for the club. Not saying it's an essential but it certainly helps.JR needs no introduction, for example.

I agree.  How many do we think?  Without getting too personal about players, KEAR re-signed almost 75 percent of the squad from last season and added about half a dozen new faces having released several aswell.  But the reality was, that those who he re-signed had not produced consistently for the previous coaches the previous seasons, and also did not produce this season either...........  Three of the signings left early or mid-way through this season which in effect leaves us with almost the same squad which finished last season - and was not good enough then and is not good enough now!

Wow! People on here have been complaining about the holiday camp mentality at the club for years, someone comes in and starts clearing the dead wood and people are crying about it.

I saw somewhere that we have the third biggest wage bill in the comp, we definitely don't have the third best team!

Said it before on here about it being Finneys team and it is his team. Rule did the same, signing the players he wanted when he was here, he confirmed it himself that we don't have scouts it was him getting them in. Loads of club CEO's do it these days rightly or wrongly.

Sone players are on far better contracts than they deserve at the club, while others are being paid buttons.

Clear out the dead wood and start again, stop the signing of injury prone players and get lads who are hungry in.

I would be gobsmacked if we had the third biggest wage bill in the competition. Fev, Toulouse and Bradford will definitely be higher. I would have thought Sheffield, Halifax, York and Keighley would be at least comparable.

According to rumours - this could well be the title of the rise and fall of Widnes RLFC/Vikings.

Where are we? It is so hard to keep up. We have had Finney classed as the great dictator infiltrating all his mates into the Club and the most hated man in Widnes (and beyond possibly!!!); one coach forced out because Finney wouldn't agree to his demands; other coaches, probably Finney's mates, brought in, who were clearly not up to standard expected of our fans on here; another coach brought in to top up his pension and clearly not up to the standard demanded of those same  experts on this site; players - mostly Finney's mates too - treating the Club as a holiday camp and deciding whether or not they need to play and, if they do, make any effort; more recently, the Club supposedly falling again into Administration, with bills and wages not paid and players being released or leaving with no explanation or replacement - just a thought? Did Amor walk or was he pushed?; Chris Hamilton single handedly running the Club like a demented dictator and pushing aside all in his way, in his quest to take over first Widnes and then who knows what!!; notwithstanding that Hamilton was brought in to gear the Club as SL contenders, is he content or even planning to see us sink to League 1 or even the Conference League; and through all this Directors' silence is deafening. Are they complicit in all these decisions or silenced by first Finney and now Hamilton?

Great isn't it and all because we lost to Swinton. You have a lot to answer for Spelly!!!

Seriously, I have no idea whether these rumours are true or not and I suspect those spreading them have no idea either. Fact is that the Club has never really recovered from the 2019 Administration, but fans have been sold false dawns every season since.

All I want is a realistic assessment from the Club of our current position and future prospects. We have had another season starting with a realistic expectation from fans of possibly a play-off place, but once again drifting into mid-table mediocrity and even possibly relegation.

If the Club are releasing players to save money and not able to afford to replace them, the fans should be told. Hamilton says we are aiming to finish as high as we can in the league this year. Surely, in that case, the coach needs to be in place quickly, with the aim of improving the performances immediately and strengthening the squad for both this and next year. As long as it is mathematically possible, the new Coach should still be aiming for a play-off spot, starting with a win against Bradford on Monday.

Come on the Chemics!!!

I would say 3rd after Featherstone and Tolouse.  Owens, Craven, Gilmore, Amor, Dixon, Fozzard, Johnstone, Wilde etc I bet they are on good money for the Championship.  I would say more than Sheffield/Fax. Also rumour was Kear was the 2nd highest paid coach, I assume after Sean Long.

With Amor, Johnson, Johnstone and Evans no longer here I would say we are no longer 3rd though we probably started the season 3rd highest.

According to rumours we are about to enter administration again......players not been paid wages and contracts to be reviewed  .....

Craven,Farnworth and brown all going to oldham

I think a big clear out is needed, and some of those higher paid players like Johnstone and craven and Lawton have just not performed.

We must acknowledge that injuries play a role but we need to get the hunger back into the team.

I hope we can also get Matty Smith as head coach to lead the challenge
