Widnes Vikings are at risk of losing one of their most high-profile players with League 1 outfit Oldham making an ambitious play to sign Danny Craven. Rugby League Live understands the Roughyeds, who have recently been taken over by a consortium fronted by Mike Ford, are plotting a high-profile recruitment drive and have made the halfback one of their top targets.
Sources claim Craven has been made an attractive offer by Oldham and he is considering making the move for the 2024 campaign. Craven has spent almost his entire career at the Widnes. The 31-year-old is a product of the academy system and has made over 160 appearances for the club.

Correct Mr Walnuts. Signing an 18 yr old from Wigan and people on here a wetting themselves. Just shows how far have plummeted.
CH has been brought in to do a job, that’s save money and cut costs we all know that. However he’s seen we pay craven and owens and probs a few others big wages for absolutely nothing, we’ve never been in the play offs, lost the cup final and always been a let down, we’ve called finney for giving jobs to his mates and CH comes in and starts to get rid of the rot and people cry? This is what’s needed a fresh start and fresh squad. I know it’s not ideal with see league position but the sooner we cut the deadwood the better!
