I did not go to judge but my mate said he needs to lose weight and was slow. But his kicking game will be very useful and hopefully with more game time will improve. I am sure with some self discipline could lose some weight even if a little big in size. Then with games will become fitter naturally. The problem for me is if Abdul and Gilmore together then non of them are a running halfbacks, which we have missed since Craven left the club. Toby Hughes did a great kick for the try and is he a running halfback? Paulie this is Colemans chosen squad so the pressure is on him to deliver.

Thought Abdull's performance was nothing more or less than ok. His kicking game will be a threat, but when we had possession the ball movement for large periods was slow. The attack has been our biggest downfall over the last couple of seasons and we missed Gilmore massively Friday night.

I hope I am wrong but I think a year out the game will catch up with Abdull it just didn't look like a player who could be relied upon over the course of a season.

A shame if that's how it turns out, I just can't get my head around replacing a gamble in Patton with an even bigger gamble in Abdull in such a key position.

Here is to hoping I am wrong.
