Who's going down?

Crusaders withdrew their application for a licence in 2011,(probably told by the RL not to bother, to save the RL the embarrasment of rejecting their bid), and that saved Wakefield's bacon. They've had so many close shaves but somehow have remained a SL ever present for over 20 years and the ground still looks the same.High time their luck runs out but I can't see it.Probably Toulouse down with Trinity escaping by the skin of their teeth, again. Not good for us or any other team in the championship.

Two (more) huge games involving the three teams in danger of the drop next weekend, as.............

Wire host Toulouse on Thursday, whilst Wakey entertain Pies on Sunday,

It remains a (very) big ask on Olympique to save themselves, with only one home fixture remaining in their run-in, meaning they must be long odds on for an immediate return to the middle tier, but....

If they can do the biz against your nearest, and not so dearest, there'll be (justified) optimism that they can survive!

It's gonna be interesting!

Wire should be ok now after last night's game.

Toulouse battled away, with  the scoreline being harsh on 'em, but it now looks highly likely that they'll be back in the middle tier next term.

Can't see Houles' job being in danger though, if the worst (inevitably?) transpires.

Looks like Toulouse as a cert now, the question is will their money man continue ?
fev will be at it again next season, but they are beatable, Leigh gone up so maybe a good season for us coming, hopefully with swinton too

1) Yeah, top win for Wakey today, so Toulouse will be now even longer odds on for the drop.

2) I'm far from convinced that Leythers are certs for SL, as I reckon Mac's Mob can make it to the Promised Land via the MPG, coz nobody knows play off football better than him.

3) Kear will have his feet firmly under the table by the start of next term, so you mob should defo be challenging for a top four spot.

4) Thank you! Win our next three games and second spot is guaranteed, and an easier play off formula thus ensues, but.........................

If (and it's still a big if) we do go up, that's when the hard work will start. Worky have been out of their depth in the middle tier this season to prove that, and anything better than second bottom for us would be a bonus!

Sorry spelly reckon Leigh will not bottle it they are way above fev in their game

also barrow came up last season and they certainly are not out of their depth

next year Whitehaven will be near the bottom unless they recruit, Newcastle who knows, can they afford full time again, Sheffield always over perform and London ?

Very strange result yesterday with Wakefield, with loads of players missing, beating Wigan comfortably. Don’t know what happened to Wigan, but it could cost them 2nd place at the end of the season.

Toulouse all but mathematically down now after their stuffing at Pies, and Wakey's win at FC, meaning.............

A nice trip across La Manche for you mob next term, and hopefully for us as well.

It just proves yet again, what a vast difference there is / remains, between Championship and SL football, so.............

Will we be saying the same thing in twelve months' time about either Mac's Mob, or Lam's Lads?

Spelly.

Maybe the RFL will get its act together and actually announce any planned changes for 2024, prior to the start of the 2023 season. At least then, clubs will know what they need to aim for to ensure a place in any new structure.

As discussed on here, with the improved form since John Kear arrived and the club looking to improve the squad for next year, we must be looking for a top 4 spot at least.

I am not convinced that Leigh are certs for promotion and still think Featherstone could put one over them in any play-off game.

The Championship will be competitive again next year, with Widnes in the mix for a top 4 place, together with Toulouse, Featherstone/Leigh, Batley, Halifax, York, Barrow, Bradford and Newcastle - and maybe Keighley and London.
