@tonyvikinggee I think your missing the point, if more people are playing the sport then more people will be interested in going to watch widnes hence more ticket sales

I think the point is that Rugby league being strong in Widnes, at any level with academy or not is a good thing. But strong Junior clubs wont necessarily result in a big increase in support for the club. The club donating Free season tickets to every registered child at Junior age would. But thats a Widnes RL issue and not an amateur game issue.

Strong junior rugby wont increase crowds at Widnes, but positive and aggressive engagement with them where long term considerations are key will.

What would this cost the club, for instance, sign up as a junior ( U12s and below ) at any local Widnes Club like Moorfield. Then every child gets a free season ticket. Every year, every club.

At my club that would be just shy of 100 Season tickets, and were not a particularly big club ( Were also nowhere near Widnes ). Times that by three,  for Halton, Moorfield and West Bank and thats 300 season tickets, now for those kids to attend mummy or Daddy, or uncle bob need to buy a ticket too. Now the uptake will be nowhere near 100%, and some of those kids may already be season ticket holders, But engage the kids, and you get the parents.

Add in the Cubs and those numbers get much bigger, i think i recall the Hornets had 150 cubs this year? or am i mistaken?

Do this long term and you start to rebuild the support that has long been waning, and you give the amateur game a shot in the arm to boot.

@tonyvikinggee exactly my point, giving the kids free tickets won’t lose the club any money as each child is to be accompanied by a paying adult, if adult is already a season ticket holder then maybe his mates parents will start going etc etc

A suggestion well worth the club seriously considering.
