After Kyle Amor became the 3rd (2nd prop) recruit of 2023 to leave the club, and now after the imminent return of Gilmore, we lose Craven 'til the end of the season, it bodes the question;
What is the ambition of the club for the rest of this season?
I know we have had a few loanees in, but our middles are heavily depleted, which will weaken the effect of TG, as he will get no (or less) protection, certainly nothing like he had at Batley, last year.
So, the Board of WVRLFC, it's over too you. Have you 'written off' this season at rd 11, or are there plans afoot for recruitment of 'grunt' up front? Us season ticket holders are growing short of patience, and I'm sure a lot will not be re-newing if this lack of squad strength continues.

There’s a director who made a pretty penny out of Widnes Vikings RLFC, so much so,WE paid for his new pad, he still sponsors a player and his lad thinks he’s an Upton Ultra. fudging joke this big top.

Who's that?
He was on the board when last in SL but dont know whether he had an involvement leading to admin.
I knew roddy years ago and he’s a Glaswegian businessman, some will form an opinion on this information alone but he was always ok with me. I don’t understand what he brought to the club? Did he invest money into the club to become a director?
The signing of Amor echoed the signing of Cook a couple of years ago, wrong side of 30 and past his best.
As I have said before, Gilly is only a good signing if we have donkeys in the pack. Craven should never have been signed on a two year contract, let's hope he's not offered another despite him having been a good servant to the club. JJ, another top earner at the club not having provided value this year, a strange signing when we have Fozard. Owens fill back or centre, never a half back and should never be counted as cover.
We have a half decent squad to be fair but our recruitment for key positions hasn't been great for a couple of years.
Saints have a few widnes lads in their squad and produce decent players, why do we never get any of them on loan if we are getting players on loan?
Cause they are dr with swinton - was it 5 played today ? Including Dan norman
@ditton-donkey I don’t know why we can’t agree a deal with saints as next door to us, better to have fringe players from saints than salford
totally agree, how many Rochdale players have we used and vice Verda - I believe we have sent them 2 and 1 is back with us@ditton-donkey I don’t know why we can’t agree a deal with saints as next door to us, better to have fringe players from saints than salford
You forgot to mention he took a hefty wageI knew roddy years ago and he’s a Glaswegian businessman, some will form an opinion on this information alone but he was always ok with me. I don’t understand what he brought to the club? Did he invest money into the club to become a director?
@mick-george I’m not aware of any of the financial dealings and still no idea who gets a wage on the board?
I thought roddy got involved with the club to help his business which is a smart move but why he would be taking a salary is beyond me. I don’t know his role at the club.
I worked for him for a short period of time and he was very good to me, I liked him as a person and he always treated people with respect as far as I was concerned so I can’t say a bad word about him personally. This was nearly 20 years ago.
As for financial dealings at the club in the rule era we all know there was a dark cloud over us and for some reason it’s not spoken of, I doubt roddy would have got involved with that.
all I do know is that a player who was owed wages had to get a solicitor to send a letter to rule for wages owed and get paid otherwise rule wasn’t going to honor his contract. Some fans will know more but maybe reluctant to say.
