@cuerdley-viking Agree with this, should have been replaced earlier but defeat against Batley surely has to be the final straw.
Looking at it logically, if we lose v Batley, we have then a week to the Fev game and then a 2 week break until Whitehaven at home. So if we were to make a change, that would be a reasonable time to do it.
Smith as a caretaker isn't a bad shout, but would have reservations as a player-coach.
What about Bob Beswick until the end of the season in that eventuality?
Hopefully doesn't come to it as I would like to see SF turn it round.

We have had no good seasons for 6 years.
We have scored 3 tries in 3 games.
We are now 8th.
Even amateur cricket teams and lower division RU teams can get an overseas player. No reason why we can't.
But hey-ho, not even looking like a top-half second division side is fine......
There has to come a point where enough is enough and trying a different approach is needed.
Finnegan must surely be held accountable for the failure to even attempt a short kicking game (as with Leigh's first try). All you need is a lucky bounce. Constantly booting it to the wing when you don't have an Inu in your side is madness. And surely bringing on Silva, the Wigan loan prop, only when the match was well lost, was the mark of a coach who has poor judgement. (Actually Silva looked handy, making the decision to delay his introduction look even weirder.) And whose idea was it to sign Bent and retain Tilleke? Grafters, yes, but neither has ever made a single break, half-break or even an offload. Let's be honest, the absentees wouldn't have made much difference based on their recent disappointing form under this coach's guidance.
Put Smithy in charge asap.
