I heard today that a potential wealthy new owner made an approach to buy us this week with the view to buy both the club and the stadium and this was point bank declined.
Anybody else heard this or know who the mystery person is?
I think this might be a “click bate” topic.
I heard that the board questions event the other week didn’t really give much away and maybe they need to come up with a statement detailing our aims over the next few years and is a buyout something they would consider if it was best for the club. They sent out a nice statement about Sherlock and how they are taking time in the reappointment process.

Our board wouldn't be able to say yes or no to the stadium aspect
I have just seen the interview of Tim Holmes on twitter.Born Viking put it online and quite interesting.I dont think the board have the same ambition like Tim and the fans. If they keep turning down investment and no ambition I feel certain board members need to step down, otherwise season ticket sales will plummet further and wont be good for the club.
@sinbad I guess it would not be beyond the bounds of possibility that a potential investor would investigate the possibility of buying the ground, at the same time as seeking a take-over of the Club.
I am not sure why they would see owning the Club as an investment, with the uncertainty surrounding the game below SL, unless they are keen to own a Warrington feeder team!
The Vikings board cannot accept an offer to sell the stadium to a new club investor. Only the owners the Council can do that! These sort of posts criticising the club board when it is obviously outside their remit do not help!
Nobody in their right mind would buy that stadium is an absolute crunchie pit.
@frankg Quite well. Although that is a low bar. It is a 30 year old stadium, The newest seating is 15 years old, it costs a fortune to maintain and is not really viable for WVRLFC to own, due to running costs.
One would think that the only way the council would sell it would be to developers. Who would then flatten it and put houses/apartments on the site.
Having travelled to quite a few of the championship grounds, ours is right up there in the top 3

I haven’t been to the London ground, but I don’t think any of the others are better grounds than ours, Salford is about as good.
The seats do need cleaning and some painting but that is down to the council, so I don’t know how you can blame the club for that.
Perhaps you could contact the council Johnny and ask them if they’re going to spend some of your council tax to do it up .
