@scouseviking55 2 - 5 team?

Agree the serious lapse for 20 minutes is still a big concern but a convincing win in the end albeit against a team with 8 on the treatment table.

Not convinced at all thst Owens should be at 7.

When is Kear going to over rule Jack & instruct that Edge should take the goal kicks. It is now beyond a joke.

@spelly Swinton had 3 mascots, were you one of them Spelly?!!

Alsi is there only 1 exit from the ground? All the fans had to wait about 10 minutes to get out, because all the players had to leave the field first, and some we’re getting photos taken with the fans.

I wouldn’t have thought that would be allowed by Health and Safety.

1) No mate, I was in shirt and tie "uniform" for my corporate duties.

2) Heywood Road is the only (official) way in / out, but the players have their own entrance / exit on the other side of the ground.

3) I'm pretty sure we're more than legal on that.

Spelly.

@spelly I think you are selling your team a bit short. You had made a break and were close to making the score 12-18 when the ball was dropped and Eckersley got his first. Even after that you had us on the ropes several times with smart attacking moves. But it's true you made too many errors, making Widnes look better than they deserved. I hope this win does not lead to complacency. Still, it was good to see a bit more purpose about the team and Kear deserves praise for unearthing a class centre, showing us what we have been missing in that position.

Quite agree. We have already lost 2 points (Toulouse) due to Owens and Dixon taking goal kicks before Edge is given a proper chance to show how good he is.

Hope we can extend Eckersley from 1 month to 3 months. We miss a quality centre and this lad oozes ability. If not Mouldi guy for the season be nice as then only need a prop and halfback on loan.

Good result with some great tries, long range and near line. Yes they had a purple patch for fifteen to twenty mins but you cant expect to control all the game but we did for most of it and two of their tries came from dropped balls in our twenty when we should of stuck it up our jumpers. Well done lads for silencing the critics.👍👍 now I’m expecting fourteen pages of well done statements😀😀

Let's not get over exited just yet it was a needed win but no disrespect to Swinton they are a bottom 2 team. Let's see how we do against the top 6 sides before the tinted glasses are brought out. How Lyons was made the scapegoat and Flemming allowed to play is beyond me, Kear needs to drop the dross.

Personally I have not been impressed with Lyons and desperately need Gilmore back soon, or a loan halfback. We need creativity against the top teams and I hope Eckersley extends and a loan forward be nice too.

As did two of yours in the four you scored before the thirty minute mark.

Mistakes are there to be exposed, and to be honest you did it ruthlessly! ☹️ ☹️

Spelly.

A good result and a positive response to the disappointing Dewsbury performance.

Kear mentioned that he was happy with the Owens/Craven half-back pairing, so guess he will be sticking with that, and Fleming at full-back until Gilmore returns. Eckersley is clearly a decent player and a good short-term signing to cover at centre, presumably until Roberts is back.

The players were rightly given some stick after the Dewsbury game, but not seen many positive comments on here about individual players in the Swinton game, other that Eckersley. How did the forwards perform and who were our outstanding players in the game? How did Fleming perform at full-back?

Hopefully, we can carry this positive response in to the next three games against Barrow, Batley and Featherstone. Two wins and a decent performance at home to Featherstone, would be welcomed.

Yeah I did mention about a loan halfback, but it seems Keary was happy with Owens at halfback. Hopefully keep Eckersley for the season if possible, or until Max Roberts is match fit. A big forward from Superleague be nice if strengthens our power upfront.

I am not getting carried away until play a top 6 side and beat them. Batley won't be easy and need to beat them. 🥖🥖
