Sheffield game

RFL were deciding on Monday - no news yet , probably too late to organise for next week, so unless they go for 19th august  or 26th, which we don’t want ,we will be playing 2 games in 2 days !

Personally i think this game would be best playing between the Halifax and Workington game.Get a few loans and play people like Houghton, Connelly, Sergent,Taylor and add 2 U19s players against Workington. JJ and Foz can interchange for rests.  We just do not want Sheffield 3 or 4 days before a final.

When do Widnes want to play the game because after the final we go in the playoffs a week later. I would look at the 19th August and rest a few in the Workington game.Get a few loan players from Super League for 2 games and play our reserve players like Houghton, Sergent, Connelly, Lyons and Taylor.against Workington. Sambou hopefully available too and Jack Owens will be fresh after a 2 game ban.

don’t know what changes between now and then ?
leaves little choice for the date - 19th ( preferred option) or 26th as we will be involved in a playoff game on 6th September and do not want a midweek game before that

This might sound harsh, I don't wish it to be, just raising a hypothetical scenario, but...................

What if the roles were reversed?

If you were riding high at the top, thus enabling you to re-arrange a game on a date when neither team was involved in the play-offs, and the Broncos were sitting fourth, struggling to re-schedule theirs, would you have any sympathy for Lockyer's Lads?

Are you paying the price of success? Possibly.

Would I swap probs with you? I reckon I would in a heartbeat!

See you at the final!

Spelly.

The integrity of the Sport is paramount. This situation is all the fault of the RFL. They have disrespected all the Champ Clubs (bar London) all year. Clubs kicked out, Clubs then restarting (apart from Fev, who have been left in limbo) Fixtures moved around and played on Fev's bye weekends. A load of absolute nonsense. Then there is the 'roulette wheel' to devise a fixture list, late announcements of the 1895 Final date and venue, following a 2 1/2 month wait from the semi-finals to the Final.

So yes, we should play Sheffield, but there has been opportunities to play a midweek fixture since mid-June.

@spelly The main thing is , this should have been sorted out by the Rl a month or two ago. But it’s not SL , so they aren’t bothered.
Only the RL would hold a competition where the rules and the fixture format hadn’t been sorted , and no idea where the final would be.

Paulie, and Farnworth...........

I'm not suggesting for a moment that the RFL are coming out of this / will come out of this, smelling of roses, and I totally accept that it's adversely affected / affecting you mob, but............

Please answer my "if the rolls were reversed" questions.

I repeat, I wish we had similar probs!

Spelly.

Even going back to the Doncaster match - that could have been played challenge cup weekend when both teams were free

@spelly

simple get the rfl to reschedule both games at the same meeting - as others have said we could have played Sheffield on cup final weekend

but no interest there

the RFL need shagging with a Rahman’s trumpet

inept, past it , paid too much and sadly still going

@spelly I said for the integrity of the sport, we should play Sheffield, which we will. If the rolls were reversed, I'm sure LB would also fulfil the fixture.

We all know the RFL are as much use as a chocolate fireguard in an arse kicking competition, it's the Sport, the world over that has the integrity. It wouldn't happen in any other league on the Planet.
