Realistic signings

With a lot of super league fringe players going on loan to championship and league 1 clubs who are we looking at that’s likely to come? I’ve heard people say our pitch is possibly a reason and I can see how that could be a contributing factor. Is a NSW/Queensland cup player even a possibility with visa restrictions? We are part time after all.

with 2 players departing from our squad it could allow us to sign a decent player and employ him in the same capacity as Owens/Craven

If Jordan Johnstone and Hatton are out with concussion we are down to 20 players so we desperately need a player or 2. I think we will still have enough for Newcastle at home though. Lawton and Bent in for Johnstone and Hatton. Other than the first choice 17 that leaves us with 2 wingers and a prop as back up, Holroyd, Brookes and Tilleke. It's not enough.

Agreed but who?

position?

availability?

youth/veteran?

we should be able to purchase a player or get a couple of loan players but I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head

@vikingfox71 would also be a good addition but we wouldn’t need both brand and Thornley so I guess it would depend on cost

Toulouse have just signed a youngster for a month from Wigan. .....why is everyone else managing to loan players except us??

If you want realistic then don't expect any signing whatsoever....personally when johnson and evans were released and the club stated "they were actively looking for replacements "....I and many others took that as just another old flannel comment with zero intent....unless we get to the bare bones nobody will be coming in and most certainly not permanently....just the club penny pinching and taking the fans for mugs...astounded anyone actually fell for it ....

@cumbria-viking it's a lack of ambition we never go and get people from a position of strength we wait until it's forced on us and we will end up with kids to make numbers up no ambition at all as we saw on Saturday this division is wide open

@vikingfox71 completely agree ...any club with ambition would act quickly especially in a period where the teams lost several key players ...never for a split second did I think they'll even look ..they'll do what they always do and put us in a situation like 2 seasons back when we had to go to Whitehaven with 16 players and one of them was ill before they loan a complete sausage ....

I think 3 decent signings would make us a force in this division not saying win it but maybe playoff semi final but yet again we are being left behind as others strengthen and there's no point in dual reg with poor Rochdale if we never have enough players to loan them!!!

I agree the rochdale dual reg is pointless if we don’t send them tilleke and holroyd for minutes, they aren’t going to be match fit or progress sat in the stands.

We have to be sensible with signing players as we don’t have a backer with big money but we need to be at least looking to replace the players released. I’d be happy with another signing like Amor. Someone who can lift the players around them when on the field and put in the hard yards

@vikingsinbradford Remember when we got told we’d have clarity and transparency with this new consortium of owners? Seems to have resorted back to old times with a deafening silence would love them to come out and tell us who does what and what are plan is for the season now especially with the img thing atm
