As the betting giant prepares to say farewell, who's gonna replace 'em?
I've no doubt there are irons in the fire already, but if (hopefully when) someone moves in, what currently awaits 'em?
Fourteen teams in tier one, or fifteen? One division below SL, or two? Will the Challenge Cup be included in the package?
Am I alone in thinking that it'll be extremely difficult to sell RL at present coz of the unknowns?
I'm the eternal optimist, coz being a Lion it's built into your DNA, but even I have reservations about what awaits us in 2027, and beyond!

No idea but I thought it was a cop out from Betfred. Like when you split up with someone and you say "it's not you, it's me". They make more than enough profit to continue sponsoring RL, they obviously just don't want to anymore.
Batchelor's Peas may make a comeback, or maybe Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire Puddings. It's all the RFL deserve.

It's the RFL. Why do you assume that?

Lets face it.
Rugby League is a shambles and deserves everything that is coming its way.
Why would any sponsor worth their salt, want to get involved when the Sport has no idea of what it is doing or where it is going?
Currently its premier competition has far too many less than average teams; One is currently relocating and downsizing outside of the town; whilst the Sport is seemingly rich enough to be able to include (potentially) three teams who will have no away support next season and bring in no additional revenue.
And that is just the start of it; the re-organisation of the Championship and the subsequent play-off system has also been a disaster.
Oh, and I forgot to mention the up and coming World Cup that nobody knows about and will be hidden behind a pay wall.
It is hard to believe that there is another Sport anywhere that could be run as badly as Rugby League.
