Heard from an official today that the crowd at the fax game was 1,400 and that included all ST holders regardless of whether they attended or not. Today there was even less people. Incredibly worrying. Good performance though.
Looked a lower turnout today from both home ans away fans than the Fax game. Plenty have written the season off, just hope they come back in 2022.
I know times have been strange, and vulnerable people are still worried about going out, but a crowd of less than a third of what we were averaging last time we were in the championship is very worrying and could well have an impact on our budget foe next year.
Still, a win is a win and it was desperately needed after last week, so we'll done to all.
Last week was a bit of a bitter, sweet event for me, with Haven being my home town and I am glad they are having a decent campaign and I would still love to see some sort of Cumbrian presence in S.L.
Why would you pay on the gate today given last weekend's result, our season overall and the fact that this was effectively a dead rubber anyway?
At the end of the day, all things considered, most of what happened on and off the pitch today were what many would have expected...
Good performance by Brookes after a difficult afternoon at Haven, Hulme and Aspey rotated well and I still don't get (but am happy about it) why Farmworth isn't being snapped up by a SL Club.
I think the general consensus across the board in rugby league is that people will just come back. But I’m not so sure it will happen. People are out of the habit, every club and the sport as a whole needs to make the match day (or game day as it now seems to be known) more of an event.
Take it you didn’t travel to Haven Captain? Brookes was one of our better players last week, let down big time by people inside him
Much better by everyone today, hopefully we can take that into next week and finish the season well
I meant more in terms of getting 60 put on you when it is only your second or third game in the first team.
It certainly is nice not to be on the wrong end of a scoreline!

Ears!!!!
Don't know where posters were sitting but it felt pretty god in the North stand. A lot coming in on the last minute but more than the doom-mongers predicted.
Whatever, I went home feeling better!
Nice comfortable win, played in very much an end of season atmosphere, which of course it is close to being and lets face it, it is a season most of us want to forget. The Club will have to work hard with recruitment to get some of the lapsed fans back. As we know they are easily lost, with so many other things to do and Covid has unnerved many too, but it takes quite an effort to get any of them back!
We started the season with an OK team on paper, with the usual concerns about not having enough props. Sadly we rarely got our best 17 turning out and so we were massively inconsistent, just when a corner seemed to be turned, with an unexpected victory, we'd lose one or two we were expected to win!
Still today was a nice reminder of what we can do when it all seems to come together, OK Oldham were not great (they did of course have the noisiest fan, who stuck to his rather monotonous script, whatever was happening on the pitch!), but we still showed some nice touches and they were enthusiastic if nothing else! Roll on 2022!

Looked less than last time out against Halifax in North from my seat in the south
My dad has watched Widnes since 58. He has a season ticket this year and the last 57. He won't go and he is not a shielder. There must be more like this?
The attendance was poor
We are down to the real die hards now, and probably 1000 in attendance so really poor.
The South stand certainly looked sparsely populated but the feeling seemed to be fine in the North. Many, like my better half have other health problems and have been advised by their medics to take care.
Next year we start again!
Good performance and did what they needed to against a very poor Oldham side.
Brookes very good today, looks a good player and hope he continues to have game time.
A big push is needed for season tickets next year in terms of price point, junior inclusion and match day experience. A few signings won't always convince people to fork out for a ticket. I'd seriously consider looking at the pricing for tickets to make it affordable and attractive for the 50/50 fans in two minds whether to come to the game at the minute.
I know this is a Council issue, but we're not giving ourselves much of a chance when we're charging £22 to get in and not even selling any hot food. There's amateur clubs all over the north west offering more than this.
