Good idea from Widnes to invite N Wales season ticket holders to our match with Sheffield, free of charge on Sunday.
If they fold, some of their fans might come and support widnes in the future.
I thought they had a few committed fans when they came to us and we had a good crowd if I recall
but not sure why they would make the travel and convert to us
Sadly I think their ship has sailed, which will affect us - we played them at their strongest and beat them
either the results are expunged which affects us
or they limp on with a really weak team which would mean they lose most of their games - affects us again
i think the results will be expunged which will put the table back into percentages - not that the table means anything really
we just need to carry on and enjoy watching our team whilst it is still there
onwards and upwards
Unless they can do a Salford and find someone to help them out and get help from the RL.
There are not many clubs the rl have helped - the only one I recall is bradfraud, buying their ground and eventually selling it back ( not sure whether the rl made any money mind)
they were never there for clubs that had been around for years(Blackpool borough )
doubt they will step in as they did not with fev or fax
or us !
If they can’t continue the Championship becomes a real mess. Only 7 teams will complete the scheduled 24 fixture. 9 including us will play 23 and 3 will play 22. Expunging their results would normally be fair to everyone when everybody plays everybody else home and away but we know that’s not the case this season. What would be fair to every team? I haven’t the foggiest
Unless the RL want to help them because they’re not in the normal RL area, and they want a club in a different area to keep going.
I think it’s a nice token idea but highly doubt we’ll get any take up of it.
The ownership have walked out half way through a season, postponed a 2nd game in a row vs Doncaster but switched the social media comments off.
Oddly they have recently appointed Jake Webster as head of Commercial, Kylie Leulai as director of rugby operations and Krisnan Inu as head coach. That makes no sense as how on earth did they think they had the money for that?
I think they will struggle being a relatively new club without much of a fan base. A shame for them as I enjoyed the trip over last season. They need someone to bank roll them to the tune of several hundred grand per season, hence why I think they are up against it.

*Not sure how many of 'em travel(led) from Wrexham for the games, but I know they run (ran?) a coach from there, and my mate goes (went?) on it, but.......
If it did come off, is Widnes handier / nearer for 'em than Colwyn Bay? But.........
Whatever, defo a nice touch from the powers-that-be at your gaff.
Spelly.
I wonder how the Featherstone fans are enjoying their trips to Whitehaven for their free RL fix?

I live in Conwy. When it started in bay they was bringing 2 coaches and getting a crowd, expats of other teams. It has never been promoted very well. And that split of the fan base. The Wrexham crew always have been the heartbeat of the club. And the few pop-up events that was put on in colwyn bay by was probably local businesses and the Wrexham fans.
I thought there was always an opportunity to go around the caravan sites with the amount of people from Cheshire over here. It's just the real shame I'll never forget watching witness the and also seeing Fui Fui Moi Moi over here. I don't even think that is that much competition from the northern based rugby union in Wales everyone I've ever spoke to as an interesting League. I'll be surprised if any of them travel over maybe the saving grace for that is the connection that we've had with crusaders over the last 5 years
I'll miss "oh fluffy sheep are wonderful" and them baking cakes for Keighley away
It is sad to see the game that I have supported for over fifty years falling apart through greed and mismanagement.
Those running the game are so focussed on their dream of a "world" game, have take their eyes off the game's grass roots. This year we have seen Salford, Featherstone, Halifax and now Crusaders in financial trouble. Will Widnes RLFC survive if they lose their ground? Which other Clubs are in financial difficulties and will go to the wall over the next year or so? How many SL Clubs will be in trouble if the Sky deal is pulled or the NRL doesn't bail out the game?
Does the RFL have a Plan B, if their "world" dreams do not materialise? Do they have any plan to ensure the future of the game in its historic heartlands, possibly in a semi-professional game with promotion and relegation between two divisions? Does the RFL have any interest in the game outside SL?
The answer is simple - no
the rfl do not care about the lower leagues and never have, they see the promised land of Aussie investment and they are ringing their hands to see how they can split it to the overpaid overlords
And now, allegedly, Oldham haven't paid their players.
