Lawton was immense and Connells try from Sambou was well finished from some excellent wing play from Sambou.
The grit in defence was amazing though.
Best performance of the season. Our players seemed to want it more than Oldham. Well done to Coleman for getting them up after last week's downer. Every player deserved to be MOM but I would nominate Sambou if I thought a bit of encouragement would help us to keep him! An honourable mention for the ref who for much of the game seemed set against us but he did well to disallow Oldham's late try and gave us a couple of crucial penalties, admittedly forced errors on the part of a frustrated Oldham.
Based on this performance I don't see why we couldn't go all the way.
An amazing result. I must admit I expected a loss after last week's effort. I could not go today as in Italy but really proud of that effort. Looks like Lawton had a blinder? It is a pity he does not do it more often but to be honest I feel we use him sparingly & he should get longer minutes IMO.
So it is Newcastle next. Is there any rule as to how many York SL players can be used? If not they could play half the York side against us?
Re the Coleman rumours, Salford are sniffing around by the sounds of things but he didn't look like someone ready to leave at FT 🤣 love him. Give him a new deal, he's well and truly put the optimism back into this club
@widiot if thats the rumour I cant see it, Salford is a sideways move with no chance of SL anytime soon. Unless they have offered a pay rise with not being able to spend much on players next year.
