I think you are right there - remember the boys have played 3 games in 18 days, against 1,2,3 in table - with quite a few injuries
players have stepped up - sergent and taylor
stalwarts have produced - Murray I particular, time to regroup, hopefully get an easier game next week then off to London or Newcastle after that
missing next week as in Amsterdam cake hunting
Maybe, as has been said, yesterday was too much after the tough games against London and Oldham. Even the best players make mistakes. I can remember Kevin Brown throwing out some wild passes and, in his day, Vinty Karalius too (look him up on google!!), one of our great players.
Let's hope that Coleman can lift the team for next week's game against Oldham and then maybe even give the Widnes fans a chance to enjoy a day out in London.
Let's also look to end the season on a high with a good turnout next week by the Widnes fans to show their support for the Club. You never know, next year could be our year!!!
Possibly Oldham at home, but not yet confirmed.
Oldham at home next week and if we win , it’s London away in the semifinals ☹️
We needed to beat Newcastle to have a chance of making the final. It’s difficult for anyone other than a die hard fan to stand by the club in its current state.
What is its current state?
Two weeks ago we gave the full time team at the top of the table, who have only lost 1 game a, good game, then 6 days later we beat the team in 3rd away from home, then this week after a run of tough games and quite a few injuries, we lost away to the team in 2nd place.
That was a disappointing performance, but hardly a team or club in crisis.
Is it 100% London away in the semi if we beat Oldham? I think Oldham is a 50/50 game. I would fancy us to have a chance against Newcastle in a rematch, but no chance of beating London away.
The Oldham home game should be a good atmosphere with a decent crowd and away following. Its also a game we could do with winning after 2 away victories against them, they would love to eliminate us!
How many time does Gilmore have to give poor passes in a game before he’s dropped. Never a game goes by without a Gilmore intercept pass.
I was always told..look where your passing...
You pick players about to hit you in your peripheral vision
With Gimore its the other way around...but never mind thats Ok have a new contract and we will build the team around you.Not only are there intercepts but too many looped, inaccurate passes etc which the overall effect is ..all too slow
I think Widnes atm are a competent Champioship club who hope to make the top 4 but realistically won't.
Perhaps hoping like a few years ago led by the last half of quality we had in Kevin Brown to hit the top ...that was some real excitement but a few knocks are it all fell away.....was good to win at Wigan at though
Even intercepts occur in the NRL
