Whoever they bring in will not be universally welcomed by everyone, but the Coach needs to be in place ASAP to try and sort out the mess this season and build for 2024.
If Betts is brought back, this forum will spontaneously combust. Of the others mentioned, maybe Smith or O’Carroll would be my preference, but whoever comes in needs to be given a chance to turn things around.
Now knowing what we did about the previous ownership of the club and how Brown was sold with nothing available for Betts to spend I wouldn't be upset if he came back.

Whoever is appointed won't please everybody. We could persuade Billy Slater to quit the origin coaching job after 2 series wins out of 2 and somebody will complain that he has never been in Leggies and a local should get the job.
