That's how I read it too. Leeds using us to see how he goes, then they'll sign him properly if he goes well!
I think he will add extra size/quality to our pack for the rest of the season so personally think it’s good business for all parties
Leeds have a lengthy injury list, wouldnt surprise me if he didnt play a single minute for us. That being said, Walker and Worthington will give us an impact off the bench if we keep him.
Given that we know very little about this lad and the fact that we just had our biggest away win of the season, I wouldn't play him yet. All I know is that he's a big lad, Leeds are using us to trial him and that he had a trial with Huddersfield reserves (I guess they didn't see enough in him to keep him). Can he catch, pass and tackle? Defence isn't a strong prerequisite in rugby union 😉
It's a shame that we don't have a reserves of our own really, we could have given him a runout to get a look at him avoiding the risk of putting an unknown in to the side for the big games we have coming up.
Would imagine he will be picked if he goes well in training. Hopefully any deficiencies in his game will be picked up there. It’s impossible for us fans to know whether he should be in the side or not at this point.
Have a look on You Tube NSW Cup - St George v NZ Warriors 2023 (Round 2).
Some handy size forwards on the Warriors side and the standard is good compared to our Championship. Huw isn't stand out good or bad tbh, but neither would most Championship players be.
