Amazes me how some people only post negative comments

You will soon get used to it, and realise before reading what these people write that there will always be an element of criticism.

Shame really.

Wombat I would not worry about it because overall Widnes are going in the right direction with Kear. Gilmore, JJ and Farnworth will improve us further once back and are big boots to fill. Nothing wrong with criticism because we can all improve every day until Rugby league World Champions. 😂💪🏉🥖🥖

I said prior to the season we should have looked at getting cover at halfback and I still believe that now, Jack Owens filling in for a match is not an adequate proposition moving forward the rest of the season. but credit where credit is due, it was great to watch Danny CRAVEN on Monday night.

So we finally show we can play with a bit of flair and that is without naming our best 17 (assuming Gilmour, JJ and Farnworth would be in our top 17 if fit). Was Mr Kear keen to show that there is more to a "Kear Side" than we had shown previously, or were they responding to the rollicking they got after letting the Bradford game slip away at the death.

Whatever the reason it was a very welcome evening's entertainment, with a lot of quality play on show. The general feeling on here prior to the game seemed to be that we'd scrape a win at best or suffer a heavy loss at worst and the first 10 minutes lived up to that pessimism, with mistake after mistake, where I guess we were fortunate not to concede more points than we did!

I agree with the posters that have suggested we wait to consider our needs following departures and long term injuries. JJs return may allow more flexibility to cover the halves and hooker and as has been said Lyons has hardly disgraced himself at "7", in fact the only time his inexperience has shown is when he attempts a "show and go", which never seems to work, but may get better with more experience, his passing and kicking have been fine.

The only "squarish" peg in a round hole seemed to be Lawton at prop, was an OK performance, but wasted his line breaking ability out wide, fortunately Mr Grady was on hand to offer that option!

More of the same please!

Yes great performance, but we are very thin in the backs for 4 months

need a utility back or two

if one of the halves gets injured what we got ? - j poss but he unfit, maybe Brooke’s ?
we need to get through sheff away and rebuild

I finally got to watch this game on TV( have not watch a Widnes match for a couple of years due to being down Under) which I did not know that Fox Sports show the game in Australia

That was a good 65 min performance(First 10 and last 5). I thought it was going to be a long night after 10 but the lads kicked into gear.Fozzard was unlucky to be not to be man of match but understand why Danny Craven got it.

I just wanted to say also, I am amazed the quality of the Betfred Championship has improved in the last couple of years since I have watch a widnes game.
