The only club I have seen Liam Finn play bad for is Widnes.

Hahah same as me, those games he played for us, he must have been a secret wife fan.

Whose wife?

🤣

Our CEO is a blagger and has kept a wage whilst hardworking people lost their jobs, the bloke has not a modicum of shame!

Out of interest what decisions has he made that have gone badly wrong? It seems a lot of criticism towards him is based on personal issues rather than strategic.

Apart from SF, every member of the football staff is a mate of the CEO, SF is in my opinion a good coach but hasn’t got a chance with a very, very inexperienced back room staff. He should of been allowed to bring his own in.

Wasn't that what prompted Sheens to leave - the lack of control surrounding the coaching/performance team

Apparently so, rumour was lack of funds but surely there is a budget for coaching / performance staff. The website should have a list of the back room staff and their experience etc.

Similar scenario to Leigh, jobs for the boys. Doesn’t work, it’s a professional club at the end of the day and is there to win games regardless of how anyone spins it. It shouldn’t be a jobs for the boys club.

Im not sure how the set up should look to be honest, maybe 2 assistants and an S and C coach, all part time of course. That’s what majority of champ clubs have. A physio obviously goes without saying. But as you say a head coach and one assistant should be sufficient

Looking at the start of the season and performances to the last couple of games... the coaching and effort have come on tenfold.

I’ve got no complaints with the coach. If we had a couple more forwards available we would have won more games. He can only play with the cards he was dealt.

Just going back a few posts - what is so wrong with a CEO appointing people he knows and trusts (or close friends as they were called) ? That happens in business everyday. Just asking.

Can't be bothered sifting through it all RV but I can imagine the authors of said posts.

Really can't fault the effort and play in the last two games, even though we were beaten. A bit of luck or a decision going our way could have made all the difference. Problem is we cannot afford too many glorious defeats in our position. A few injuries could see us back where we were earlier in the season, in having to put backs on the bench just to make up the numbers.

Finnegan has to ensure that the players fitness and commitment are maintained for the coming games against Sheffield, Bradford and Halifax = which are all winnable on current form. Two out of three would be good. I guess we are at the stage of hoping for a play-off spot, rather than expecting.

In many ways, the criticism of of the coach and players was justified with our early results, which were abysmal, but that seems to have been turned around. There are a few who for some reason always seem to go too far in their criticism of individuals at the club, which often descends into what seems to be for personal attackss. The same people always seem to be absent when some praise of the coach and players are justified.

I would criticise the club for going into the season with a small squad, which has little or no flexibility to cover for injuries, particularly in the forwards. Whether this was down to money or an over reliance on bringing in loan players, or both, I do not know.

That certainly seems to have been the case when the Government awarded those PPE contracts!

A small thing maybe, but the one player that Finnigan has signed came from Newcastle with him was Adam Lawton and he seems to be responding to Finnigan better than any other coach so far!

Lawton has been the best player so far this season for me.

Yes, a remarkable improvement over the last 5-6 games, and this is often how long it takes - can't just expect a new team to gel immediately.  FINNEGAN always had drive and commitment as a player, with a great work ethic.  We have to be realistic, things at the start of the season were not good.  A partially fit squad being exposed as such by many injuries in the f0rwards, and the backs hopelessly ineffective with no field position to work with or mis-firing.  The best move FINNIGAN has made has been to put SMITH at loose forward in the middle to firm us up and stop teams running behind the ruck and straight through  the middle of us.  Since we have been able to rotate the props, we have improved no end as we have laid the platform for the backs to play some footy - and we look good near the line.  Defence and one on one strength has improved no end, and we are looking like a decent outfit in this league.  WE need some luck and a few decisions and there are only a couple of teams in this league who would fancy their chances against us.  Lets just hope we can keep it going and see some more improvement.........credit to all when it is due.
