Thought we lost the game by being unable to keep hold of the ball for the first 20 mins of the second half.  I think we lost the ball for the first 3 sets and continually handed possession back to Fev not on our terms.  That said - the way we defended those errors was outstanding.

As mentioned, Owens, Craven, Lawton, Grady, Tyrer, Dixon, Baker, Brown, Field all would have been involved if fit shows what a good effort it was.

Owen Farnworth is the best prop in the league for me at the minute, he's been outstanding and hope his injury isn't bad.  Doro and Davies also excellent.  Matty Smith's kicking game was pretty good today too.  Special mention to Liam Bent given the week he must have had, he's put his hand up and made his family proud.

Attendance of 2944. Not a bad effort considering where we are in the league. Not seen the rest of other teams attendances but would expect it to be too or near top.

Good travelling fan base from Featherstone boosted the attendance yesterday.

There was still acres of space in the stadium where the ticketing website shows as season ticket holders. They must have heard/read about the Vikings renaissance - where are they??

South stand looked sparse from my cramped North stand seat!

Lot of Widnes fans blaming the Ref for the defeat but like you say the reason for defeat was our inability to keep hold of the ball.  We are our own enemies at times, by and large our defence is excellent but one on one missed tackles has cost us dearly, twice in two weeks Matty Smith has missed a one on one tackle which has resulted in tries.

Thing is on the attendance, I wonder whether people aren't bothering because the season in terms of the Play-Offs is over, regardless of our undoubted improvement. Wonder whether a ticket offer may be in the offing either for Sheffield or certainly for Halifax on the Monday...

What can I say Kear has done a fantastic job and if we can get more investment it could be a passionate time. So fired up and proud of the efforts, I spent all night in Pinkies. Need to get a Pinkies box for next year and I am sure that will up the attendances. 😛🥖🥖🥖👏

Not really tracked the attendance this season but it's sad when we're classing under 3k as a 'decent attendance'.  Even in previous poor spells we've managed to get 3.5-4k through the door.

That said it is expensive for walk ups and the fact that we've almost no chance of making the play offs can't help.  I don't think many Widnes fans went yesterday expecting us to push Fev like we did.

Looking at the table, we need to aim for 7th and we will finish between 7th and 9th.  I'd like to think we're better than Sheffield and Bradford and have to play them both so this needs to be the target.

Financial pressures will affect everything for a while tbh, other clubs as well. The squad has developed and grown in numbers and overall ability over the season, if we had started out as we are now....!? But the same is true throughout the league.

Can't honestly see what any club can do about prices unless they have a pot of cash to cover any losses.

Overall the club has a more established look about it and JK and Steve Roberts add to the feeling that we are growing sensibly. Next year should be another move up the ladder, after those who fail to get promoted have sorted out their finances again!!

If we can maintain the improvement on the field to the end of the season, together with announcements of new signings for 2023, the club could consider offering a decent incentive on 2023 season tickets, this may increase take-up.

I don't know how are walk-up prices compare to other clubs, but £22 does seem to be excessive for Championship games and will be a real turn-off if, like this season, we have been poor on the pitch for half the season. I guess in the current financial climate, people have to make choices and prioritise their expenditure and attending a game may well have to be down the pecking order.

I reckon a 3,000 gate is pretty good for a team out of the play-off running, with poor form on the pitch prior to recent up-turn. This level of attendance must compare favourably with most other teams in the league.

It will be interesting to see if Fev can afford to keep all their expensive players, if as is likely, they don’t get promoted this season.

Very enjoyable game with their old hand jonathon Ford playing a critical role.

We matched them and often looked the better team.

One thing I took from the game is that, Fev ain't all that. With a couple of canny recruits next year (and Leigh gone) we can compete (albeit Toulouse might be with us).

Agreed, assuming that we still have JK as coach.
