But if current members of the club are refusing to put any money in but also refusing to sell their shares are they not doing more damage then good?

This investment could go one or two ways but we will never know unless we take a chance, one thing we do know is the current way of operating and doing things isn’t working as we’re just idling along we’ve had this 5 year plan for what seems like an eternity and we’ve never got any closer to super league yet 3 teams above us have all managed it with some investment.

@vikingfox71 Correct, even though we have IMG now the GF winning team have always gone up, which is the British way. Wakey, Toulouse and 99% chance London will win the GF this year. The RFL have never been in the position of stopping the grand final winning side going up since Dewsbury and Hunslet in the late 90's.

If Widnes could win a grand final or even 2 in a row after London go up, average a 3,000 crowd as have a winning team. Then combine that with the stadium facilities and history of the club it would put real pressure on the RFL not to turn us down. Especially if you have sides struggling like Hudds and Cas.

Also other than Leeds, 4 of the clubs with the biggest voice are Wigan, Saints, Warrington and since DB came on board, Leigh. They all want us in SL over York and Toulouse for the 1-2k fans we would take to derby games and the reduced travel time.

Thats the glass half full opinion, invest, sign the top Champ players like we did under Neil Kelly, win the GF and pressure the RFL into finding a place for us. The 3 teams that went up at short notice this year have all been competitive.

AH's commitment to put in a lot of money is to be commended. He has an investor who will come along with him, but wants the existing Board gone. I get that.

The Present Board (shareholders) put their money where their mouths were, 7 years ago, which also is to be commended. But that only lasts for so long before people get fed up listening to the same spiel. Business Model, 6 year plan, every year we are dished up the same old, same old, on the field, at best, bang average RL. So the Board tell us, tonight that there is potential overseas investors talking to them as we speak. That remains to be seen, watch this space (If Elon Musk rocks up at Wakefield for the 1895 Final, nobody will be more shocked than me)

What actually is a share of WVRLFC? What are the assets? The office photocopier? The kit hamper? The merch in Donna's shop? Twinny's Business Club (who's members may be decreasing)?

I'll tell you, the main assets ARE YOU, the paying customer, the season ticket holder, the matchday walk up guy, the attendee who buys a Golden Gamble, the Fan who pays into VIPS. And who does this every week, year in, year out, out of blind faith and love for the Club. If we all lose the will, then the Club is dead.

Paulie xx

Oldham announced this week that if they can't get 1500 attendance they can't afford to play at boundary park

Sheffield left that field they were playing on as it cost £7000 a match !

so we must be getting close to spectators not paying for our match day

as Paulie said the current board did a great job but we can't stay in survival mode forever because you will lose supporters every season look at attendance this year sliding down week on week if there's no hope , no excitement, then it becomes harder and harder to get people to commit and once they've gone harder to get them back for these reasons I'd say it's got to be time to try and gamble a bit more

I wouldn’t  take notice of Sheffield’s issues. They have been screwed over by their stadium management firm. £7k to rent a place like that is extortionate

Are there any notes or a link to an update page from last night?

I think for once the majority of us agree on here, which is strange!

Extremely grateful to the people who stepped in and saved the club when it mattered but now it’s time for them to let go and see if the next person can take it forward with investment they can’t keep hold of the club just because they’re scared of the next step or they themselves need to invest more which is easier said then done. The next few months will be so important hopefully they make the right decision for the club

Thatss hiring a stadium versus hiring a pitch with some barriers, their cost shouldn't be that much

@steelviking

you are correct we need to keep together and support our club

maybe a few more years in the wilderness, but enjoy the journey

our club is still here after 150 years and with our support will be here a lot longer (probably longer than London toulouse and York

onwards and upwards !
