Well did last night move us forward any ?
I guess we got a board member back , I'd like them to try and talk to Tim again,
do we believe in foreign investors if we turn down local people
lol just seems we always end up with more questions than answers
apparently we need turnover to reach £1 million to spend 500k it's like rolling a ball uphill at all times 🤷♂️
No we haven't got a Board member back.
1. Twinny is not on the Board, he is ex-Board member
2. The Club are happy to meet him for discussions on returning
3. The Board may not want him back, so may reject any of his proposals
4. Everything appears to be a mess. Stalemate all round.
Paulie xx
@pauliewalnuts do you think they'll take him back ? If not it looks like we've given up ?
they do not seem to want to take any risk at all which is sinking ship thinking
@vikingfox71 You've answered your own question.
If there is substantial foreign investment, who is 'brokering' the deal?
Paulie xx
@pauliewalnuts well Roman abramovich isn't lining up!
and we lost a investment last week over the special measures
so there apparently investors everywhere 🙄
but haven't we heard all this before and nothing has happened
without saying those words I'm not quite sure I believe it
and we lost a investment last week over the special measures
I really don't believe they were that serious to flake out so easily over one line in one article. I think our chairman was being a bit cute saying that
@spideylizard I agree spider because any serious investor would know by checking books etc not internet gossip so another bending of the truth 🤷♂️
the most serious part of it all is paulies sad demeanour as they are always the optimist of us all and when paulies not happy 😡 its bad
@vikingfox71 yeah wouldn't believe that for a second ... typical board member BS as usual ...not a chance someone pulls out because of a rumour probably started on the forum ...if anything it shows utter contempt for the fanbase for even thinking for a second we'd swallow that nonsense....
@cumbria-viking I know mate just can't see why they won't/don't want to do anything progressive
losing Tim is horrendous after his impact
and not wanting twinnys extra investment or putting in themselves but find money to buy out twinny??!!
not custodian behaviour
I’ll say it again, people referring to ah as ‘twinny’ clearly have some form of relationship/friendship to him or his family. Biased much?
if he cares so much about the club, he wouldn’t of walked away like a child with his ball when people disagreed with his approach. He could still invest as part of the board as he could if he bought the other board members out.
Again seems very spoilt brattish. Not a good look if things didn’t go his way and he’s prepared to walk away. What would have happened if his attempt to superleague didn’t work over the next few years? Would he do the same thing?
I want investment as much as the next man but I don’t want a single benefactor, or a benefactor and his mate that could up and leave at the first sign of something wrong.
people who clearly know him on a personal level won’t agree and I’ll just get called negative or boring but it’s simply the truth.
Glad to see JJ has signed a new 2 year deal. Have a good bank weekend all with no Widnes to argue about 🫡

Here here
If the status quo continues the club will just eventually wither and die sadly…The attendances at the moment reflect the apathy in the town if there’s no hope of returning to the top table they simply won’t come. With all due respect to the likes of Swinton Rochdale and say Hunslet…They have no aspirations whatsoever to play Super League so it isn’t a problem for them they just enjoy watching their team at this level.I was part of the original group of fans that started WIFFA about 27 years ago…The club was that strapped for cash we had to raise money to get a bike for Sean Richardson to help with his rehab…I printed promotional posters around the town to drum up support…What I’m trying to get at was even though the club was at a low ebb we always had hope that we’d eventually get back playing top level Rugby League…Which we did with that memorable GF win against Oldham.Without hope a club has nothing especially a club that’s won the biggest prizes on offer. If one individual offers to move the club forward with essence of risk is it a risk worth taking??
@scouseviking55 I played rugby against twinny many times , had fights in games , like him ? Not really but know people who have worked for him and said he was a pretty decent boss
he's always been known as twinny?!?!
biased ???
no
happy weekend everyone

I also played rugby with Andrew and Neil at 14 to 15 years old then went on to play football then off to the Army. I never knew which one was who but both are very friendly and proud of Widnes doing well like myself. I prefer ambition rather than stay in the Championship. We probably need to suck the RFLs plumbs and find a way to the top. The only thing we are not privy too is how long will Huddersfield, Toulouse, York Castleford and Wakefield's owners hang around. Personally i think the fans will peter off unless there is hope and promotion comes along again. But for now lets become the best in this league so the RFL have to look at us matey.
Re; Twinny/AH.
For what it's worth, Andrew (as I call him), in my opinion, is a really nice bloke, and has the best interests of WV at heart, and would not do anything to put us in danger of boom & bust. He, like the other Board members all share the same goal (as us fans do) and that is to see Widnes Vikings in the same place HKR are in, now. The difference is he sees the end goal down a slightly different path than the Board do, which he is entitled to. Although knowing who he is, and have done for a while, I've never classed myself as his friend, as I've never been close enough to him, to be his mate. What I will say, is Andrew's family have had an horrific time over the last couple of years, things I wouldn't wish on anybody. If he had walked away, I'd have 100% understood why. But like us all, it's in his DNA, It's Widnes, 'OUR TOWN TEAM'
I'll share this with you. In 2007 when we played Castleford at Headingley in the GF, I was in Seattle, so couldn't attend, which meant my son couldn't go, either. Andrew had just bought a house opposite my son and his mother. He'd hired a mini-bus to go to Leeds, and took my lad under his wing, and took him to the GF. And for that generosity, I'll be forever indebted, and that's the yardstick of how I judge people, not by the shirt/ripped jeans/ brown brogues.
So, Twinny, AH, Andy, Andrew... Keep the faith, MATE.
Paulie xx
