I thought it came from one of the Batley supporters - just a general "gee up" sort of noise.

Owens deserved his MOM award, certainly his best game this season although run close by several others.

Was rather disappointed with Worthington, a big bloke who I thought was tackled easily. Didn't seem to gain ground by leg-driving after contact.

Roberts in the second row was an interesting choice, he must be the smallest SR in the league! He never let the team down, mind you.

A bruising encounter and for once a group of good big uns, were beaten by a group of good little uns, (well relatively speaking!). Not a huge amount of enterprise shown for most of the game, but loads of effort and fantastic defence! Then the late move between Gilmore and Owens, split Batley open and the game was almost won, with the final nail in the coffin being hammered in by Dixon with an excellent touchline conversion! A great afternoon, and a game which could have gone either way until a touch of Widnes class won it at the end!

Enjoyed the game today me and Pascal. Defence was very good and the Referee was awful trying to help Batley. Gilmore and Craven I don't feel are clicking yet and can improve. When we get it out wide we are dangerous. 😎Β

Pascal loved it and the effort was their too. Think we should get the ball out wide more though because we don't have the size up front. Hopefully a few will go against Sheffield for our last home game. Well done Widnes 💯💪👏

Yes, I heard them announce 3,200, which I think is about 200 more than we’re at the York match.
