According to Radio Cumbria commentators he gave Widnes everything, he let at least 6 offsides go and another 5/6 blatant forward passes go as well😁 Thought it didn’t sound like the Tish that had reffed so badly at our place a couple of times.

Yes, the Barrow spectators in the North Stand sounded like our own of the same residence on matchdays!  The officials at this level just seem to miss so much of the incidents at this level.  Five tries to four to us, and we gave them an eight point start, so a good fightback overall.  If only we could be more clinical, we would have been out of sight by half time anyway, but in fairness, Ince was held back for one chance with the line opne for a draw and pass from Fleming's break - and Fozard's alleged knock on/pat down by the defender.

On a separate note, we did seem a little bit soft on edge defence, particularly the two centres in the second half, when they started to realise they could go around us!  This needs tightening up for next week.

Pat down one was ridiculous but not anywhere near the level of the kick restart after I think their first try when it was clearly knocked on with both hands when trying to gather the kick...every single person saw it apart from rush ..even the barrow fans were laughing

Well after watching two televised Saints games with Liam More presiding I just wonder in which district of St Helens he lives! They could do no wrong and the TV playback exposed his misses.

Talking of Radio Cumbria I had a chuckle to myself when one of the commentators said that he had been to watch a juniors game that morning. It was a team from Widnes called Moorfield playing against Barrow and it was a bit feisty. He said that he had better not say what he thought of the Moorfield parents as many of them were in the ground watching the Vikings game. You can take the lads out of Widnes but....... 😀

As usual I went the game yesterday and firstly would like to thank the coach and players for their efforts and improved performances this season. Great credit to all concerned.

Was quite nervy at times yesterday and credit to Barrow for not chucking in the towel and continuing to make it difficult for us, as it should be.

I didn't see too much wrong with referee, I do find it a tad annoying when people who aren't at the game repeat comments from a biased commentary team on the radio and then report them as fact on this forum, but hey ho some people are like that.

Roll on next week, first play off game for a long time and hopefully there will be more fans at the game than listening to the radio. In the words of Paulie Walnuts UP THE CHEMICS

Sounded like a great following from Widnes in a crowd of over 3000- their best gate of the season ?

I think both James and Ian, the radio merseyside commentators, won't be pleased that you call them " a biased commentary team."

But hey ho, some people are like that.

Aren't all local radio commentators biased ?

@sunny

 The Barrow commentators were quite open and praised our last try as well-worked. The Bradford TV commentator quotes names and sounds very sharp but on TV you can see that his names for Widnes players were often wrong !

 Get the score and its all that you want!!

@sinbad yes they are. But when it's the other side its dismissed when it's our side it's taken as fact. That's the point I was making.

@sinbad I'd love to know ,if this is true, how the RFL have come up with that. Last years rankings had us on 10.17 and Barrow on 9.18, you only get 0.25 points for winning the  Championship GF, so God knows how they could leapfrog us?

Agree unless get 2 points for the location counting sheep as number of people to make over 130,000. 😂 This points system is a joke and there stadium is not as good, plus if we had a little more fans another point. Disappointed not to reach 3k but next season I feel we will mate.
