Barrow Away.

Apparently Barrow fielded 3 amateurs last weekend at Wakefield. They are also saying they picked up more injuries.  Could they be bluffing to get us over confident or complacent?

@geoffw I reckon you’re right they’ve probably rested a few against Wakey as they knew they’d never win and are hoping to give us a game at there place. I’d be worried if we’re not confident tho, barrow need to be a type of team we know we will get 4 points against a season

Jarrod stack went to hospital with a suspected broken wrist according to Paul crarey but I'd take that with a pinch of salt as he's a master of misinformation.... definitely rested tom walker ..Andrew bulman..Ryan Johnston..Luke broadbent and Ellis gillam ..also Charlie emslie will be back ..I'll put good money on all playing Sunday ..also james Pye who theyve had on loan from salford whos a very big unit ...some are genuinely injured... greenwood..Silva ...they'll have a strong big squad and we'll most certainly have to do it dirty

Any team with aspirations of top 6 shouldn't have any qualms about going to Barrow and picking up a result. Not a happy hunting ground in recent years but if we can't get a win this time and miss out on the play offs then so be it.

If we are good enough and want it badly then it is a win. If do not make the playoffs we need to evaluate places need to improve for next season.

The forecast for Barrow on Sunday is rain, have we won any games this season when it's been raining during the game? If it doesn't change and it's a heavy, slippery surface I would say it's a 50/50 game, maybe 60/40 to Barrow with home advantage and the long trip up to Cumbria.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it agains. Places at the end of the season are based around performance throughout. We’ve been in the top 6 since the first weekend but we’re not now. If we beat barrow and ends up 5/6th then we deserve it. If we lose and we end up 7th then we deserve it.

we’ve improved significantly this season but playoffs or not is dependant on Sunday

Tables don't lie and i still feel if want to improve, then a bigger squad and a few better quality players are needed for next season. So big forwards, another half back and strike centre for starters.

Agreed but personally I don’t think we will be getting a strike centre in I reckon will stick with Fleming and edge.

I agree with you but if we want to go to the next level we need it mate. No offence to Fleming and Edge who are not bad players, but not big match winners.

@pascal We have a team of grafters without doubt, but unfortunately we don't have players with the skill required to break down a good defensive set up,which hopefully can be improved upon.

Exactly can't knock the effort but we need a few X Factor players to break the line. 👍 Probably don't need that many players mate.

Anyone got any X-Factor money?

That's what it all boils down to. There just isn't enough, if any, WV fans in the area with pots of spare lolly. We are never on TV so no firms will pay a premium for Shirt/Short advertising. It is what it is, for now.

Paulie xx

@johng We could possibly get Brand if he is being released at the end of this season, unless a full time club offer him a contract. I thought he played well in the games he played for us this season.
