Agree but when you change games days and times does not help

Along withe stupid fixture structure - should be home, away et al

to listen to people saying that cannot be done because teams share grounds with football clubs is garbage

Well its not, if you're a Tennent at a stadium, there's always considerations.  We had to play in Wigan remember and that wasn't even because of a sporting event.  There's also a chance our main supported stand will be closed for painting in the playoffs

It doesn't help that The Bowler, Leggies & the Albion had Wigan v Saints on at the same time. Potential 'walk ups' may have decided to stay in there, watch SL, have 4 or 5 pints instead of paying £24 for Championship RL.

Salford brought a good few, but not as many as I thought they would.

Talking to Stu Murphy, last week, I mentioned that I thought the RFL should schedule the fixtures as best they can as Home, Away, Home etc (obviously it may be 2 home or away, now and again) and that the Clubs have a responsibility to play their home game when scheduled, and not go a month without a home fixture. Where they play that home game is for them to sort out. He replied that in 2027 you have to declare your home ground and stick with it. So the likes of Oldham can't flit about between Boundary Pk, Sedgley Pk, or Stalybridge.

No doubt this will fall on its arse when the powers that be, tell everyone in February 🙄 what the league format is going to be.

Paulie xx

To be fair, we watched the last 20 mins of Wigan Saints in The Bowler after our game finished, and there was no-one in there.

Just had a look at other attendances in the league…

194 (!) at Newcastle v Swinton.
489 at Midlands v London.
547 at Sheffield v Rochdale.

What a state this sport is in.

@viking25 amateur teams used to get that many when I used to play. Explains a lot towards why the game is suffering.

Newcastle 2nd in the league after moving up from league 1 and being a large city is shoccking as is 547 for a city the size of Sheffield. No promotion and an unfair fixture list must have something to do with it as well as being football cities of course. Those 2 clubs spend decent money on squads as well.

Also explains why no away fans when they play us, they dont even get many at home! A shame for the sport, I hope it survives. Never thought I would say this, but is it worth us exploring trying our hand at rugby union before the game collapses? Desperate times and all that!

The Championship is in dire straits.

once you account for the freebies dished out to York reserves and whoever they were playing friends and family, was there anybody actually paying to get in.

Widnes and Salford should be hoping to get out of this league asap as the fanbase is there.
