Stu Murphy suggests in his interview that we could pull out of the final altogether if the Sheffield game cannot be arranged for a suitable date, although AC's post match interview suggests that could just be hot air.
we will get a dress rehearsal this weekend.
any idea on how ticket sales are going?
id expect a good turnout from our fans, the gap between the semi and the final certainly doesn't help, nor the silly scheduling on a BH Monday in the summer holidays.
Is there a designated Widnes section in the ground at the final ?
0% chance of us pulling out. All the tickets are general admission to one stand aren't they? There's no need for a designated Widnes end, there will be no-one there from London. The whole ground will be designated Widnes (OK maybe about 35 Londoners).

There probably isn't a need, but East side of the North Stand has been designated to Widnes, so if we oversell we overflow into the East
I've asked this question before, but will Lockyer's Lads v Chemics be the last 1895 final?
Playing the final after the main game at Wembley never worked, coz the stadium was virtually empty, and then.......
This year, it was seemingly at Wakey, but now it's just up the road for one team, and a 400 miles round trip for the other.
Fixtures have had to be re-arranged coz of it, with the new date for your game against Sheff, still to be sorted, and our trip darn sarf, now a week later than originally planned.
The AB Sundecks sponsorship seems to be history, so.......
Will there be a 2027 comp?
I reckon there won't, but how say you finalists?
Spelly.
It needs to be sorted out BEFORE the start of the season, with the dates and rules. With London probably not being in it next season, it could be an interesting competition.
I still think ithe final would be better played before the Challenge Cup final , when the fans of both Challenge Cup finalists fans would be in the ground, for most of the match , instead of the Women’s match, when looking at the tv , there looks about 1,000 in the ground.
But the RL want to be PC , even if it means a smaller crowd, so probably won’t happen.

1) Absolutely! Stage the decider before the "main" game at OT? But of course, that's only if my prediction turns out to be incorrect.
2) The ladies' Challenge Cup Final seems pretty much set in stone as a curtain-raiser to the men's equivalent, so (in my opinion) little chance of that scenario changing.
I'll be at Wire, purely as a neutral, as have mates at both teams, but I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if the crowd tops 5,000.

My guess is that this will be the last 1895 Cup finals unless a new sponsor can be found. Maybe big Nige will put his hand in his pocket!!!
With regard to this year, maybe the final could have been played in London. You would still get a decent Widnes following, but the RFL could have seen it as an opportunity to promote the game in London as the coming of the London/Australasian team to Super League.
You never know, Sky or BBC may have even televised the game, giving the opportunity for Brian Carney, Jon Wilkin etc to preach about how brilliant the game of SL is (as opposed to rugby league) and how much having a team in London (as opposed to Widnes) will add to SL!!!
If by chance big Nige or someone else comes up with a sponsorship deal, the game should be played before the Challenge Cup final. I guess we will find out about a week before, or even a month after, the start of the 2027 season.

Sorry frank, even if it was played in London they would not attract as many species as the travelling crowd from Widnes would
to make it look like a crowd they would have to play it in a tiny non league stadium - where London have played a few times this season
london experiment is still a failure and always will be
better off expanding to Leicester

Apparently Degsy was to continuing sponsoring the 1895 Cup, as the 'Debeau 1895 Cup', but the RFL wouldn't allow a kit manufacturer other than RFL affiliated Oxen to have naming rights. So he pulled his sponsorship.
Paulie xx
@7-vikingnomad I accept the attendance would be far less than a game played at Warrington, possibly around a 1,000 with a good Widnes following.
I just thought that it was an opportunity for the RFL/SL to promote the coming (again!!) of London to SL and possibly get the game televised. Do you think that anyone at the RFL can see beyond the SL? I don't.
I won't be digging out my Widnes bobble hat and rattle for this final!!!!

frank London does not want rugby - league or union
look at kick and clap figures, 2 small grounds that never sell out - the only time they do well is when they play their game at twickenham when all the hooray Henley’s come out
and 2 teams folded - what does that say ?
London in SL next season will be a farce - they may play well but crowds will struggle to get to 5K
then the Aussies will pull out and we are back where we were
we all seem to agree that PR would be far better - but who is listening ?
