When you think that the ''Wild Bull of the pampas' was only 14 stone 6lbs he'd never have got a game!!!!!!
I have no idea if Bennion is good or not I was replying to the comment he's not the biggest. I'm 5"10 and 14 stone, Bennion is 6"5 and 17.5 stone. To me as rugby players go that's about as big as they get. Kirk isn't the biggest build to be fair just very tall. Murray is bigger build wise.
I don't know what all the "sizewise" fuss is about.
I'm the same height as you and heavier than Bennion - so what. In itself that doesn't make me a good or bad player.
Mind you, I am 84 years old.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
Sunny why have you been asking for a big pack for the lat few years if size doesn't matter. Even the Ladies know it does 😉I don't know what all the "sizewise" fuss is about.

Size does matter to get over the gain line. That's why Bent, despite all his effort, rarely makes the 10.

To put it simply ...
Big bodies draw in tacklers ...only have to look at the impact Murray and lannon made ..and also the fact the past few seasons the better teams have massive forwards ....you need them big bodies that can just crash over a line ....look at bent ...not the biggest ...immense in defence n absolute workhorse....can't break a tackke to save his life ...
Are we thinking that's the final squad? I still we need another prop and as someone else on here said, we lack a little sparkle. I do think we'll be lucky to get in the top six as the other clubs have also strengthen.
Oldham have spent a good bit and will do well this year, but I don't think it will be success they think it will be.

Vincent was a loose forward, not a prop.
Paulie xx
And how many props these days also play loose forward!
You tell me, feel free to name them.

The squad of 25 is actually the same size as last season.
For me of the new signings;
Cameron Brown as a full back/ half back has replaced Kieron Dixon as a wing/full back.
Regan Sumner has replaced Ollie Brookes as a back up winger.
Adam Jones has replaced Lloyd Roby as a utility back.
Ryan Lannon has replaced Sam Wilde as a back rower, he was meant to be signing for this season but we managed to get him in early so I would class as a new signing.
Brett Bailey has replaced Will Tilleke as a young back up front rower.
Gavin Bennion has replaced Callum Field as an experienced prop that you would expect to be in the first choice 17.
Then we are 2 experienced props down, Anthony Walker and Sam Brooks haven't been replaced, but we have an extra half back in Dec Patton that was much needed as we had no cover and a loose forward/utility player in Gavin Hall, I think he can add a combination of aggression and creativity from loose forward.
So in summary more cover at half back and loose forward but a couple of props down. Also very short in the centre position as we were last season with the loans of Bardsley-Rowe, Brand and Nisbett.
For me we have 3 new experienced players that will be in/pushing for the 17 in Patton, Hall and Bennion and then 4 young lads as squad players/project signings as the club described them. The one I'm most excited about at this early stage is Cameron Brown.
