Former Chemic Ant Walker, has by "mutual consent" left the Lions.

His best game for us, came just a week after "Noosegate" when he scored a couple of blockbusting tries in our win at Sheff.

Where next for him?

I have my thoughts, but admit that I know nowt more than you, so..............

Well have to see.

Yeah, he's become a(nother) Lion, who's now a Crusader, and............

Now Jordan Case had also "left my mutual consent". He's had injury probs of late, so we'll have to see if he retires, or finds another club.

With those two recent departures, there's now a mere five on the books who were with us last season!

We're up in the North East on Sunday to play Thunder, and it's another ground to add to my CV, as this term, they've re-located to Blaydon.

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!

Just back from Blaydon, where it finished Thunder 6-48 Lions.

Professional performance, but there's better teams than Newcastle.

To their credit, they never threw in the towel, and kept going till the end, even though they were well beaten.

Next up for us, is in a fortnight with a double header, when we host Dewsbury, and the girls are up against the Bulls.

We're walking again! So can you help please?

Prior to our game with Keighley on 22 June, we're engaging on our annual sponsored walk, raising funds for Blood Cancer UK, and the MNDA.

It's along the Bridgewater Canal from Barton Bridge to Heywood Road.

The Give as You Live page is now open on - donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/swinton-lions-supporters-sponsored-walk

Or you can do a bank transfer to the TSB in Eccles  77-19-10    32413168

Thank you in advance.

Lions 10-26 Rams, and second best all round.

Four tries to two, and whilst their second from a kick, looked well offside, we were still beaten by a better side.

Their forwards bossed it, and also they landed five from five with the boot, which always helps.

On to Goole at home next week, hoping for better things!

Lions 30-28 Vikings at a sunny Heywood Road this afternoon, and...........

Yes! It was as tight as the scoreline suggests!

24-12 astray at the interval, and defo second best, meaning.............

Scoring first after the re-start, was a must, and we did, to pull it back to 24-18, but............

They scored soon after close to the corner, and even though the kick was missed, it really looked like we'd blown it, but.......

Another converted try made it 28-24, with about a quarter of an hour to go, and..........

Then the grandstand finish, as we moved the ball to the right, and squeezed in for a touchdown, just inside the corner post to tie up the scores, but..........

Young Briers sent the con right over the black dot, and we led by two.

There was still about ten minutes left, but we held on, and we're now one of four teams, who sit just one point behind Hurricanes, the league leaders, which I'd have settled for after four games, before a ball was kicked!

Next up for us, is a trip to (Kilshaw bound?) Cougars, who at present are only kept from being basement boys by Newcastle.

Hat-trick for yours truly this weekend, as this morning, the Warriors pipped Wests, and as were were beating Goole, the Pinks got stuffed at the Piedome! Happy days!

So it will be a Kilshaw coached Keighley who'll be lining up against us on Sunday eh?

I'm sure we'll find a song or two to remind him of his past!

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!!

Just back from a cloudless, and sunny LL, where it finished.............

Cougars 14-18 Lions, and for the second week running, we hit back in the second half after being a dozen astray at oranges.

Fitness was key, and we lasted better than they did, scoring the winner with about four minutes left.

After his six from six with the boot last week, young Briers hit three from three today, with the third coming from way out on the touchline, to go over the black dot to add the extras to the winning try!

Just to rub it in to their new coach, we sang "You're getting sacked in the morning!" and "Kilshaw, Kilshaw, what's the score?"

Another top weekend for yours truly, with Les Cats ending the Pinks' Wembley aspirations on Friday!

No game for us next week, as we're not in action again until Good Friday, when we make the short trip to 'Ornits.

No game for the guys today, but the Lionesses hosted Leigh Miners, in the Challenge Shield, where I'm just back from, and we're now in the quarters following a comfortable 38-8 win.

8-0 up, then they got it back to 8-8, before we scored bang on half-time, to go in at the interval 12-8 to the good.

The second period was one way traffic though, with us winning it 26-0.

Further to this, we've drawn you mob in the quarters!

Next Sunday is the date I believe, but KO time and venue TBC.

I'll be there, will you?
