What a great game and advert for Rugby (not Super) League. Probably right result in the end and a Widnes lad winning the Lance Todd trophy. Well done Salford for making it a great final. Congratulations Leeds (and Spelly!)

Thanks mate, but it was alonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng 80 minutes for yours truly!

I've been a critic of Myler for a long time, saying he was (yet another) who'd promised so much as a kid, and didn't kick on from there, but...……………...

Perhaps he's found his niche at full-back eh? I hope so!

Brown was pretty anonymous, I'm glad to say.

Had I been neutral, which I normally am in finals, I'd have prob said what a good game it was, but I was too nervous! LOL

It was certainly "different" watching it on the box for the first time in 35 years, but there were still tears streaming down my cheeks, when the first lady of RL sang "Abide With Me" so beautifully.

Let's hope that by the time Wembley is with us again, that all will be back to as near to normal as possible, and also, that the Pinks aren't there!

Stay safe everyone.

Spelly.

Thought Salford had Leeds out wide but they never went that route often enough.

They took the kick option so many times when they had the numbers out wide, especially in the first half

Lolohea kicked on 3 occasions when Leeds were compressed and Salford had the overlap but when they needed to settle down he and brown moved the ball out wide on the 4th instead of setting up the drop and the game was lost

You never know, 2021 could be Swinton's year but I wouldn't put your house on it happening - maybe 50p!!!!

Funny how the CC final was the big match of the year, with fans from all clubs making the annual pilgrimage irrespective of who was playing. It has gradually been pushed to one side as just another game by RFL/SL, with them hoping the "Grand Final" would become the must watch game for supporters.

Widnes unbeaten in this year's comp....Up the Chemics!

Wonder how long it will be before Watson is offered a 'bigger' job?

Hopefully next season's final will be played in front of a 70,000+ crowd with a new appetite for the final itself.

Have to say I've been to RL Finals at OT and FA Cup Finals at Wembley and Cardiff: last year's Cup Final Day felt low key, even with Wire v Saints and a good Widnes following for the 1895 Cup.

‘Pinks’ sounds likes a homophobic insult to me.How disappointing that it is tolerated on this forum.Come on admin, bin the bigoted posts. It’s 2020, not 1975.

Is it any worse than "Dire" instead of "Wire" or "Stains" when referring to the Red Vee up the toad from you, which has been used on here for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time?

The Pinks is just summat we've called 'em for years, in a similar manner to the above, and homophobic and bigoted (in my opinion) it is not.

Does anybody else agree with Sinbad?

I can understand why we were called Chemics, Warrington the Wire/Dire, Wigan - Pies, Huddersfield - Fartown and several other nicknames associated with RFL clubs.

But haven’t Salford always have played in red and white, what is the basis for theirs?

It's just summat we came up with yeeeeeeeeeeears ago mate. Pink being a pale shade of red, and they are (in our opinion) a pale imitation of an RL team! It's as simple as that! But......

Bigoted and / or homophobic, as Sinbad suggests it is defo not!

There's nowt wrong with a bit of banter in rivalry!

Salford have played in red since 1889 so well established as the reds I think. Interestingly enough, their first home game as Salford was against Widnes in 1879 - maybe Spelly was there!!!!  - and their first game after being admitted to the Northern Union was also against Widnes. I hadn't realised just how far their history goes in the game.

As for the banter about them being "pinks" ie a paler shade of the Reds, how is that being homophobic? Maybe assuming that anyone who wears pink is gay could be considered homophobic. Just another example of wokism; seeing bigorory/homophobia where it does not exist.

1) Even before my time, and that's saying summat!

2) I have a pink shirt, I'm not gay, and have never had any grief from anyone when wearing it. I can only assume that Sinbad misunderstood the scenario, and is now onside with it following the subsequent posts. I defo hope so!

Getting back on topic.......

I have heard that they are looking at going into administration very shortly, taking advantage of the no relegation scenario in order to clear a lot of their debts and hoping a points deduction will come from this seasons tally..

If this is true, I can't see them getting away with it. Any points deduction would have to be in 2021 and mean almost certain relegation. TWP/HKR will be delighted with this!

There have been rumours of Salford going to the wall for about 15 years now.Not heard this latest one.

It might help the RFL and SL if Salford did go into administration, in as much as it would make the decision to terminate the Wolfpack's SL licence easier. They could go with a 10 team SL for one season with a two team promotion for 2022.

An extra two teams (or 1 if Toronto go altogether) in the championship would not be a problem as it is not written in stone that you have to play every team home and away.

Apparently the Pinks broke a long standing record tonight.

According to Jon Wells, for the last eleven years, whoever lost at Wembley, won the following week!

Funny how, early doors, the commentators instinctively called the refs indiscretions several times, then got back onto message and oozed praise for the Pies.
